I just bought an official PS2/Logitech made USB headset for about 18quid delivered from ebay. Came in a day. These things work and come with long cabling.

Sounds like that is the best option, I dont mind having a cable running from the console.

me too. Been using BT so far & hate it.

Have ordered from Asda the SOCOM3 PS2 package. (With USB headset) for 18 quid.

Figure its worth that for a good quality headset! Can't use PAL games on my PS3, so SOCOMs getting traded!

Guys, what are my options to play this?

I have a US PS3 console......can i still download it without having a US CC or do i have to buy it from ebay at over inflated prices? Oh and is the online region locked out?

I have an NTSC-U/C console same as you.

I setup a EUR account, with my Norsk info and CC, and it works fine.

The PS3 seems to be the most region free machine ever!

Just a shame the bloody PS2 games aren't region free...

Couldn't get my headset working right last night, i could hear everyone (kind of) but no one could hear me, (and yes i was pressing the left stick in.) Might have to resort to a wired headset as well.

I agree with the point about not being able to tell who's talking, tis quite annoying.

No region locking whatsoever on the servers.

Buy from the PSN store or VG+ (hard copy comes with bluetooth headset).

Cheers fella, gonna go on today and see if i can sort an EU account out, not been on my PS3 this year except to watch a few movies.

This game sounds okay though, anything that can compete with the COD 4 beta sounds alright in my book!

I had a similar incident with Spatial101 and a warhawk.

Just saw the whites of my eyes, in a rage.

Then I realised we were on the same team.

Madness....

That was so funny.

I'd raced into the square and tagged who ever it was that was in our zone with the aid of someone in a Warhawk. And then found I was suddenly having to dive for cover from an attacking Warhawk.

I ducked into that building archway and hid to the right. Cue the Warhawk strafing to a new position to fire at me. At this point I noticed it was you.

Ran to the left side and you followed, still firing. At this point I was taking damage so had to hit L3 and say:

"Erm Capcom is there any reason why you're firing at me when I'm on your side?"



Nothing quite like a full on killing frenzy when you loose track of who's friend and who's foe

The thing that was doing me in last night was when someone grabs a flag it lights up red above them and this sometimes confused me if I was on the blue team and I was getting excited so I would send the odd stray rocket towards a flag carrying teammate am sure the wired headset will sort all this out, hehe.

Yeah that got me as well!!

I think tbm picked it up a couple of times while we were blue and in the chaos of battle I let off a couple of rockets in his general direction to be greeted by someone with a Scottish accent screaming something along the lines of:

"Which ******* *******, **** know ***** *** firing at his **** own ****** ** stupid ****?? ****** blue, ***** BLUE!!! ****** **** ***** kill **** mother ****!!!"

TBM was really on fire last night. After the fifteenth time he called me out for having a 10 second spawn I had no option but to call him a moody barsteward.

It's always fun online with our very own TBM is in "The zone"
