Must be catching all this good luck!
After 5 days of no pt action,finally had two,one last night from 12:00-3 am (i'm on holiday!) with some japanese players.
And this afternoon with some french and japanese players!
Got from lvl 20 -23 would have been on longer but i had to get my wife from the train station !
And i bumped into Moot as well!!

how come i never ever see those pirates whenever i camp them on ship back and forth between selbina and mhaura.

i camped these pirates for 2 hours straight and still no pirates....sigh

I think you only see them on pira...I mean *insert day name here* It should probably be raining at the time, with a good chance of wind and there should be no more than 20 people on the ship. It also helps to have everyone facing the south east while stood in the extreme north of the ship. Once you've done all that, you need to craft any of the same item 3 times and have at least 1 person fish up no more than 10 Bastore Sardines. All of that should increase your chances of a pirate attack, but we won't tell you by how much as we like to keep you guessing.

Seriously tho, everything in FFXI is a game of chance - such is life I'm afraid

I love the random chance factor, have done ever since Angelo decided to bust Invincible Moon on my party the instant before we all got wiped out in the final battle of FFVIII.. random chance rocks! There's nothing in FFXI to compare to the Odin/Yojimbo instant kill type moves though, more's the pity. Can you imagine how awesome it would be if you were struggling in an xp party with a bad situation, say you got a link and Odin appeared on his 6 legged horse and dispatched the mob in a single blow!? That would rock.

Well I would lay dwn money that we're about to see Odin in the next release. We have 7 summons representing 7 of the 8 constalations named in the home ciites. The only one not to represented is Odin, come the new expansion he's going to be there mark my words!

I've been thinking about taking part in Ballista now that all the stressful stuff is out of the way, but I reckon I'm a different nationality to most of you anyway. The only other Windurstian I know of is Hicory. Does *all* Ballista need booked now? I thought it was just the diorama stuff?

I presume Diroama Ballista is what Wedge was talking about and therefore nationalities are irrelevant. There has been talk of having a LS Battle for a few weeks now.

Blimey, there seems to be a new event underway. I just left Bastok Mines on a chocobo, when I ran past the market gate there was all kinds of **** going down. Some gigantic bull kicking the crap out of a very large crowd of people, it chased them right up to the gate! I stuck around and took a load of snapshots from the back of my bird, but I won't post them - let you all see it for yourselves!

It's not very big but it killed me in two hits. Oh well, it was a successful evening otherwise; got some items I was after, finished a few quests, kicked the ass of a big-ass dragon and had a few successful synths. Still got 99 seals but I feel I ought to leave some time before my next gamble...

Another poor night in an Experience Points Party - Just over 4k in 4 hours with a 2am finish. It seems since Lv50 these parties have either been amazing (eg. Thursday in Gustav Tunnel 8k in 2.5 hours) or utter cr@p (last night it was a shocking NIN tank, waiting for replacements, BLM that arrive in Cape Teriggan then leave after 20 minutes because their brother needs 'something', pulling the wrong mobs / deaths etc). /sigh

At least tonights party will be solid^^
