Is there going to be any room on this thing if you're doing it as an alliance? My thf could do with some JSE for farming with - unless the blm equip beats my af pants.

As for where I am on CoP, the last thing I did was beat all 3 promies - not sure which mission that puts me on tho.

    --edit--

Ok, I think I'm on mission 2-2 I've spoken to some old guy for a cutscene and now apparently I need to find a sewer entrance to speak to another guy who talks about a minotaur for another cutscene.

I reckon we'd be good for this, I think I can make Saturday night though I'll check closer to the time. We could go about this the real way and go in enmasse and fight our way to the minotaur we could get both lumber and subligar drops doing that. Beat the minotaur and if we fight our way out we can probably get some more subligers.

We can try one map spawn area on exit from the minotaur killing and the other after and kind of run a rotation round the zone. Think once we get a map respawn is about 30 mins so we could pop one loop round kill formors get another loop back and so on add nauseum.

The NMs could be fun as well, be interested to fight in there as I've always gone in and used draw in to pull everyone to me.

In other news Dammo cleared CoP last night and got his ring.

Tobal(Sam/DD) and wedge(Brd) if you guys could help with CoP on saturday that would be sweet^^. At the moment were planning on a 11am gather in T.Safehold, is that ok for you two?

The JSE hunt later on sounds good, although im most likly going to be working again that night, goodluck on the drops tho guys.

God bless morons with too much money.

3 hours of farming, 720k richer.

Prices are slightly out of whack still though. Many big ticket items have come crashing down from what I saw last night. Scorpion Harness was 11m (peaked at 25m) Haubergeon was 12m and remarkably Byrnie was 15m (it is almost always the cheaper of the big three) but there were 16 listed so expect prices to go tumbling.

However, it?s not a uniform price drop. Arhat?s Gi+1 doubled in price from 5m to 10m a couple of days ago and a katana I want won?t sell for 1.3m despite being steady at 1m previously.

I think what?s happened is, in the panic a few weeks ago a common topic on forums like AK was suggesting buying equipment to keep up with inflation (as opposed to storing gil which devalues as prices go up). This meant there was ?artificial? demand for many items, ironically contributing to the rapidly rising prices. Now with people trying desperately to sell their goods before the market crashes around them who knows what could happen? To be honest, this situation is probably not much better. Whilst massive price drops on big ticket items sounds good, I think it is really difficult to operate effectively in such an erratic economy.

Is it worth me picking up the PC version and starting over from scratch?

            A couple of questions...

Are there any region specific servers, ie. Only UK player servers?

Are there any newbie servers that are fresh and unexploited?

            Comment

              No and no.

Starting on a current server may be a culture shock after playing the 360 beta (mostly due to gil amounts) but if you do enjoy the game and want to play without fear of any progress being lost (S-E have yet to confirm beta characters will be retained) getting the PC version is a good option. Your account is transferable across all versions so you could migrate to 360 once it?s released.

There are no fresh servers all have been in run for some time, we are all based on Seraph one of the oldest and most expensive servers running. However you will find proces shocking across all the live servers if you've been on the beta.

If you want a specific server people can invite you to that server via a world pass and you'll find that a lot of people are quite helpful. In general you'll find levelling in the newbie areas much less hassle, competition is manic on the beta and obviously a lot more experienced players on the live serversthat can advise on things.

All servers are not region specific thankfully and allow you to play with folks from all over the place. The biggest problem you'll find playing at NA time over here is that mostly you're seeing school kids till later as the adults are at work. If you wind up in a kiddie party you know about it but hey thats life. Some of the best parties you'll find are in the early morning here around 8 or 9 am with the japanese hardcore on. If you can get an invite you'll see some good parties, as a percentage I would say these JP parties are on the whole better than the UK prime time parties for xp gain. The hardest thing is to get invited, use autotranslate, indicate you're happy to play in non-english parties and most of all be polite. Game etiquette is important to, a reputation for under levelled subs, weird subs and out dated gear will not help you.

The thing to remember though is Japense does not automatically mean amazing. Some people have a misconception on that, what you will find though is their players are politer on the whole and less likely to shout random insults mid party.

This info from the latest issue of Famitsu (out this Friday in Japan).
Lots of people wanted a pirate / gambler-type job and Square has responded, it seems.

                      New job: Corsair
Looks like a pirate. Pics of Elvaan and Mithra wearing AF.
Hat is black, clothes are brown.
Weapon is gun with hexagonal barrel.
Support allies with bullets. It's a party support job, not attacker anyway.
                      Job ability: Gamble Technique.

                      New Area:
Aht Uhrgan Empire: looks like San d'Oria
It's the new Jeuno... includes AH, rental house, guards. They want to add chocobos too.
There's talk of monster invasions for this area too.
Divided into three areas: king's area, surrounding area and people's area

                      New monsters:
                      Kutourb: male mummy
                      Marlid: mammoth
                      Chigo: small parasite

(spellings of the monsters may be weird, I'm taking the names from katakana)
Sounds like we have FFT?s Engineer job, can you say Arm, Leg, Armor Break

                      Comment

First thing I thought of was the fruit machine style characters like Cait Sith, Selphie, setzer etc. Armour break was an ability for someone in FFX-2 though wasn't it.?

The break moves were assigned to Warrior dress sphere in FFX-2.

The Break moves are actually in already though with Great Axe weapon skills which is WAR A+ class weapon so they kind of tie in between the 2 games.

Interview with Treasures of Aht'Urgan Director Kouichi Ogawa:

Q: What's the general concept behind ToA?
A: The main idea is to increase areas you can play high level jobs in. Not only areas, but also new gameplay ideas like Dynamis and Limbus. For low level people there are a few new jobs prepared

Q: "Treasure" in "ToA" is an item?
A: You'll find out by playing.

Q: Can it be played without Zilart or CoP?
A: It's made to be, but I'd imagine it would be more fun with the others.

Q: Are Geomancer and Sage new jobs?
                            A: I wonder.. (w)

Q: Do you need ToA to play the new jobs? SMN was playable without Zilart.
                            A: We're considering it.

Q: How does Blue Mage learn magic?
A: Secret. Just keep in mind that it's a job with MP.

Q: New abilities are acquired in new areas?
A: New abilities are unlocked with merit points.

Q: Can you go to new areas immediately? Even as a low level?
A: There will be requirements to going to new areas. They are geared at high level jobs. Xbox360 users and newbies should have fun with getting the new jobs.

Q: How many new areas will there be?
A: Compared to Zilart and CoP there aren't as many. But that's not to say the amount is exceeded by other expansion discs.

Q: Are the areas outside of conquest influence?
                            A: Yes.

Q: Will there be gimmicks like the cliff sliding in Uleguerand?
A: CoP had a lot of tricks to hinder the player, but I'm thinking it would be good if we added some to ToA that would actually give some kind of advantage (in using them)

Q: Are there level capped areas such as in CoP?
A: I can't say there aren't. But, we are thinking in the direction of not limiting the player.

Q: Will there be limitations other than level caps?
A: You might see some new ones like the "no subjob" cap in the new Dynamis areas.

Q: There's a new area that looks like Windurst. Is it related?
                            A: No.

Q: (of captives) Can players also be captured (by pirates)?
A: We plan for the setting to be reflected in the game. Players becoming prisoners sounds interesting, but also kinda scary. (w)

Q: Will there be expediary force missions in ToA?
A: We will be adding a totally new conquest battle system to CoP that will be difference from the current conquest system. A hint is in the currently released public images of ToA.

Q: What's the relationship between the new and the old beastmen?
A: There's a hint in the scenery of what we've currently exposed of ToA.

Q: Is Mamuuja's(sp?) pet cockatrice rideable by players?
                            A: No.

Q: It seems like there are a lot of enemies that are just old ones with new colors. How many new ones are there?
A: Secret. We will add as many as we can.

                            Q: No way, "Corsair"?
A: We thought of adding a gambler to ToA, but outside Japan the impression of "gambler" isn't so great so we went with Corsair. Basically it looks like a pirate but is essentially a gambler type.

Q: Its main weapon is a pistol?
A: It's not a weapon that has great fire power like a RNGs, but instead can support the party and give buffs.

                            Q: Not an attacker?!
A: The main concept is for it to be a party support type.

Q: Will gambling techniques also be party support-ish?
A: Some will. It's a gamble, so maybe people will be like "That Corsair has bad luck!" etc.

                            Q: Any other new jobs?
                            A: Hmmmm.. (w)

Q: Will there be new regions aside from the Aht'urgan Empire?
                            A: Yes.

Q: The "Far East" country at war with Aht'Urgan is in the east?(wtf?)
A: I'll leave that to your imagination.

Q: The Imperial Capital of Al'zabi(sp?) looks huge.
A: It's the Jeuno of Aht'Urgan. There's a AH, rental house, and guards. We'd like to add a chocobo too.

Q: Will monsters invade the city?
                            A: Enjoy finding out.

Q: Can you ride the ship from the port in the "Commoner District"?
A: That port will become the means of coming and going (to/from Aht'Urgan). As far as where exactly the ship comes from to get there, I will say that you can get here without Zilart or CoP.

                            Imperial Capital of Al'zabi(sp)
"Imperial District": Place where nobles live. A lot of elvaans. At first will not be accessible by players.
"Commoner District": Various races. Packed with merchants and salesmen.
"Dweller District": Lots of humes. People with no citizenship and the old overthrown emperor dwell here. Menanced by beastmen.

Q: Will there be a huge version up to accompany ToA?
A: For the new items and jobs there will be a mandatory version up for those even without ToA. The changes to be made to the game system will be done on release day.

                            Q: How's the xbox 360 server doing?
A: There are already lv50s. Most JPs are pre-existing users switching platforms/returning to the game where as NA/EU users are new.

Q: What are you doing with the March NA event?
A: It'll be done for 2 days. We plan on having items available you can't normally get. We're also considering such an event for JPs.

It strange the turned around on the ?little high level content? SE have had been spewing in previous interviews, which is hopefully a good thing, more places to exp outside of Ulg.Range, Sky and Lufwise Meadows(and KRT for monks) as by the sounds of it all the jobs will be getting new Abilities at 75, which sounds good to me(maybe even several, pick?n?choose one). While all the low end people get new jobs to play with, I would certainly like to go Corsair MP?less Debuffer the ninja once was intented to do, the gamble bit would certainly liven up the parties, now I wonder if it would produce negative effects with bad roll or just low stats buffs.

Timemage is certainly out the window, just no need for it, Haste2/3, Slow2/3 would be game breaking unless this planned gameplay change is a radical change. I think the next job has to be DD type, so geomancer is on the cards, with proper melee version of red mage weapon buffs maybe?

I'd love Carneo(sp) to invade Bastok and wipe out all the spamming yanks on the 360 beta.

I spammed 'Buster Sword for sale!' last night and had around 20 replies! LOL.
