Probably a better option than the boring Lizard Jerkin. It's located off an NM in Inner Horutoto Ruins (where we skilled up a long time back) so I could help you camp it.

      Let me know.
Yes please, that sounds like a good piece of kit, and looks better than the lizard jerkin.

        A productive evening last night.

Started with some easy farming in Korroloka Tunnel then I agreed to go with Vanicent to Inner Horutoto Ruins to look for his Trailer's Tunica. Had a nasty scare when he got disconnected in Windurst and was gone for about 20 mins but he got back on and we headed out.

Turned the corner inside the dungeon to see 2 Blobs, a Treasure Chest and... Maltha.

Killed the first blob (which also dropped a key for the nearby chest) then provoked the second which also attracted the NMs attention. When it came to killing the NM it wasn't hard but was surprisingly resiliant for a mob that drops a lvl16 piece of equip. We finish it off and the magic words appear in the chat log.

You find a Trailer's tunica on the Maltha.

Van's RNG gear is really getting quite good

After an ENM with a Summoning Earring drop (not bad but not great) I went back out to check for the map ??? Was much harder traveling around the top floor of Dem than the other Promyvions but after about 40 mins of weaving my way past the Empty I had found all 3 of potential spawn points but the ??? wasn't at any so I went down to the 3rd floor.

Firstly I had to clear a load of strays near a Memory Recepticle (whilst simultaneously dodging the attention of a nearby seether) then avoid the Satiator NM but my efforts were rewarded when I found the ??? Traded the memosphere and the Promyvion-Dem map was mine.

Finally, got all 3 of the initial Promyvion maps.

          <<< Lvl.35 PLD

Tonight I'll probably be heading back to Bastok to Lvl MNK as I'm going to need a f**k-load of CP for my lvl.50 PLD armour.....

          MNK >> lvl.8 (from 4)
          then...
          THF >> lvl.18 (from 12)
          then...
          WAR >> lvl.37 (from 33)

(all so I can get max usage out of Eisen/kampf with my WAR before selling it)

... Then it's back to my struggling PLD with hopefully enough CP and gil for good lvl.50 stuff. I'm totally broke after kitting him out with Eisen and two swords (I couldn't make up my mind over Strider or Centurion Swords so got both >< ) - I have enough gil for one more Choco back to Bastok from Jeuno. LOL.

I can live without earrings tbh - I'm interested in the Dodge Earring however so I might go on a drop stampede in Beadeax(sp) looking for it.

          ------------

It would be alot more convenient for me to use the 360 for ffxi as I could use my VGA splitter to switch between my PC and 360 allowing me to refer to quest guides and maps without exiting the game.
LOLz - my Dell TFT has two inputs so I have a special 'maps' button that I press on my monitor to bring them up. lol.

          ------------

Also - does anyone have any hints for the Ghelsba Outpost BCNM30 'Petrifying Pair'?

Paladin? What happened to the ninja obsession David?

Far too many NIN and SAM on Hydra. The land is becoming saturated with them as I predicted it would.

All the newbies seem to have gotten tired of voking/tanking (not that they were ever any good at it in parties anyway).

I think it's a really fun job - the relief of having 10HP and no MP left and having mages heal you repeatedly back up whilst getting hit for 60-90 is immense - really keeps the blood going which I found was missing from DD play.

Also, as you solely generate all the hate constantly it feels like it's YOU fighting the enemy and everybody else is merely helping out.

There are only 3/4 PLD at my lvl that I know of on Hydra also, so finding a party is never difficult.

              -----------------

I will use NIN and SAM for CP and ore farming to lvl my Goldsmithing in South Gustaberg - that's all.

Linkshell Level 30ish Experience Points party - Do you need it?

Got my WHM to Lv30 last night so if people are up for some parties in the coming weeks that would be cool. Not sure on a start night this week - will have to see what is going on with the next CoP Mission.

So, if you are interested, let me know what job you want to use and we can try and get something organised!

Will take a look this evening at my job levels, its possible I have something.

As for the CoP mission, are we still aiming for Wednesday or should we push it back.

We are just waiting on a response from Hic. I have mentioned it to her so we will just need to wait and see although I would guess as I dont think she has the chip yet that Wednesday may not be on?

Would like to try this ENM soon if anyones up for it, Tobal I think you mentioned these ones in Boneyard Gully.

Its a 3 man ENM and its uncapped, but I reckon 70+ would be ok for it.

Myself, Tobal and Wedge (mikewl) di a couple of Petrifying Pair runs about a month or so back. Was an enjoyable but sadly we didn't make a lot of money out of it but they were fun fights. This is what we did.

The BCNM caps at level 30 and is a 3-man battle against 2 lizards. Our party setup was

                            WAR/nin (me)
                            WAR/nin (Tobal)
                            BST/whm (Wedgemoon)

Subbing NIN was for Utsusemi only (to provide damage mitigation) so we never dual-wielded, instead both using a 2-handed weapon (Great Sword and Great Axe) as that provided better damage.

I think me and Tobal both had a couple of Hi-Potions and an au lait drink (pear or panama is good) which offers a Regen effect. I'm unsure what meds Wedge used (if any).

Upon entering the battle, the BST summoned a jug pet (Crab I think for high defence) then used his 2 hour move Familiar to make it more resiliant and powerful. He would then set his pet on one lizard to keep it occupied. The 2 WAR then focus their damage on the second lizard aiming to kill it as fast as possible whilst alternating Provokes so that the person who has Utsusemi shadows available has hate. It's best if the WAR use Mighty Strikes to increase their damage and help kill the first lizard as quickly as possible.

If the BST pet dies befoe the first lizard is killed they are responsible for 'kiting' it until the WAR kill their lizard. Kiting is the process of basically running away The BST can use Charm to Bind the mob for a few seconds allowing them to run away out of attack range. Because of this the WAR cannot rely on the BST using their MP to help cure which is why Hi-Potions are important.

Once the WAR kill the first Lizard then all 3 players can all group together to kill the second lizard which will be quite straightforward.

The main danger in the battle is if one of the Lizard's uses Baleful Gaze which causes Petrification effect which stops you from performing any action. It doesn't last too long (we survived being petrified both battles) but it could casue trouble if you panic.

I think that's everything. Good luck if you attempt it and let us know how you get on

Does anyone here know a Hume called Maharu?

He contacted me out of nowhere when I arrived in Kazham last night, and simply gave me four pieces of Vagabond Armour.

I'm still a little suspicious of this, even though he told me he was quitting FFXI for WoW.

                              I'm probably been paranoid though, aren't I?

                              Comment

Maybe he just picked a random low level player to give it all to? If its bothering you at all though, either sell the pieces or send them back to him - thats what I'd do.

Besides, he'll probably be back after his fortnight with WoW and he might even thank you if you give him his gear back

You could always check the AK or killingifrit seraph forums though, if he's a bad egg chances are someone will have dragged his name through the mud...
