That seems to describe the standard way of doing it (and the reason it's taken me this long to get a shot at it!) using a full alliance etc, nobody ever breaks from those methods it seems. But the fact the old Rargh got to the final round and the tribune people had a victory using a single party, is quite encouraging I think. I'm sure we can tackle it on our own terms.

Well, kudos to anybody who could keep a clear head and take stock of the situation during those garrison fights - for my part I imagine that's what a vana'diel war must be like!! It was just a case of find an enemy and attack... mental. Much preferred the Orcs to the Gigas anyway. If anyone wants to do the lvl 40 one in Zi'Tah next week (and Windy maintain current form) I'm up for it.
Mustn't distract us from CoP of course!

Last night was super-cool fun, loved every minute of it (once we got started ^^).
Both times we lost most of the NPC's during the last round (obviously). On the second one when I actually could get a view of what was happening there was at least one instance where 2 x NPC's were tacking an Orc on their own and no amount of Cure's from me were going to keep them alive. I'm not sure what the answer is in the middle of all the chaos but obviously in theory, if that mob was tied up elsewhere with the Alliance then my Cure's could be better used on the Alliance instead of what amounted to wasting MP on NPC's that were going to die anyway.

Loved Garrison.
In fact the last few weeks has really shown me the number of activities that are available in this game to do but also saddened me when I realise how many of these things are ignored by the playerbase at large in favour of EXP and HNM only (it seems at time anyway). I think this was evidenced in having at least 1 person who watched us do Garrison asking repeatedly if they could join up. You have to wonder how many people who complain about the so called 'lack of content' have actually done most of the things in game. I hope Assault and Beseiged are taken up to a great extent.
These last few weeks we've done Phomiuna Aqueducts, Carmine Dobsonflies, new ENMs and Garrison and each has been fantastic fun. Definately up for more.
Also, lots of new information on the new update this morning coming from the Fan Festival. Seems almost too much to take in but we have the new trailer and job which Moot has linked to (and if anyone says "I knew the next job would be ???" I will slap them lieing) but also details on changes upcoming for various jobs here:
Some interesting stuff there. I take it from the NIN part that we may not be getting anything too spiffy as we are already 'powerful' but we should probably not get too comfortable as we could be weakened if needs be.
I also like the sound of the WAR updates. I'm a Great Sword WAR and proud of it so if this yupdate makes it more agreeable to the masses then that will be cool. WAR/thf with Spinning Slash. {Yes, please}.

Especially like the Mog Locker announcement. I'm a storage space whore so an extra 30-50 slots (with a fee) is fine with me. This came at just the right time too as literally 2 days ago I almost snapped and started employing a mule. Looks I can refrain and stick by my principles once moreI think Mog Locker wil be a perfect spot to hold my Rare/EX equipment horde (many of which I don't use but keep anyway).

Some more bits.
PLD will hopefully be improved as S-E feel they have taken a 'back set' to NIN (which they have). Auto-Refresh is mentioned but I actually like the sound of PLD gaining TP when they block an attack with their shield. Sounds good to me
Also, Wedge you may be interested to here they are hoping to add a greater variety of BRD songs as they acknowledge that BRD tend to play the same few over and over.
Oh and Corsair sounds brilliant with a real risk/reward issue going on. They basically can buff or penalise your party members but the buffs you get depends on your party makeup so an example they gave was that if you have a WAR everyone could gain a Double Attack bonus for example (which sounds fantastic).Last edited by C'; 11-03-2006, 09:31.
