Not until next update (presumably in 2 months time).

As it stands you do not have to beat Matt multiple times to get each job past 70. Beating him once allows you to level to 75 on any job (beating him on each job does have a benefit however) so the people who take up BLU, COR or PUP can still get to 75 (presuming they have another job 66+). This is only an issue for people who have yet to reach that level AND get one of the new jobs to 70 before June. I don't think anyone will notice. If you have the funds necessary to level a job that quickly, you most likely have beaten Maat anyway.

As to why their is no Maat for the new jobs yet could be down to a few reasons. Maybe:

    1. S-E haven't altered the job types of certain types of beastmen yet. I'm pretty certain that the SAM, NIN, DRG and SMN beastmen we see today were different jobs prior to RoZ. To fight Maat you need a Testimony of the job in question which in most cases drops from a beastman of that job type.

    2. S-E wish to look at how the players use the jobs before developing AI routines for the NPC controlled BLU, COR and PUP (which would include Maat).

Oh but this has pissed me off:

The item "miniature airship" has been added as a special item available 365 days after participating in the "Return Home to Vana'diel Campaign."

So people who stop playing get a cool furniture that is unavailable to people who have stayed with the game for 2 years+? Seems a bit ****ty to me.

I?m disappointed there?s seem to be no balance upgrades for the other jobs yet with only pld and whm receiving them, guess we?re going to have to wait till patch after this one.

And the Mog Locker seems be crap, only being able to access it in that area won?t help people levelling up 1 of the 3 new jobs back in the ?West?, as corsair and puppet master will seem to have brd or nin levels of equipment.

Think we can managed CoP4.2 tonight? Who?s interested.

Well, I would be up for 4-2 for sure. I guess it depends on how the update goes for people. I can start that when I get in from work then asuming there are no problems, will just mean sorting equipment and getting to the zone when I log on.

But presumably they'll have to be able to access the new areas to unlock those jobs in the first place, and if there's a ferry route from Mhaura it's not that tough to reach. I used to trek back and forth from Mhaura/Windurst & Selbina/Bastok all the time before I had the chocobo license.

4-2 : I can't do anything between 9 & 10pm, which is prime time unfortunately... if we could fit it in before or after however that's cool. Problem is Mosley obviously doesn't visit here so we can't guarantee he'll be around.

I am really starting to look forward to ToAU now, the new jobs look so cool.

I think Corsair is what im leaning towards most, though all the new jobs look really good.

As for that Besieged its sounding great, we have to give this ago.

Also very interested in how they have changed the SSG NMs, will it stop RMT, probably not but maybe give us more of a chance against them.

Now its just a case of when it arrives, I ordered with gamestop but just realized they require a signature at delivery which I wont be around to do, hmm not good.

Went on this morning before work to check things from the update.

First thing is I have been hit with the TP changes. Previously I was gaining 5TP per swing as my delay went below the TP ?floor?. By removing this ?exploit? I now hit for somewhere between 4.5 ? 5tp per swing. My first attack round netted me 9tp whereas the second round got me 10tp. Not a massive difference but probably going to be noticeable. Will take an extra attack to land to get 100 (I think, depends if I?ve done my maths right) as I know get 95% where I used to get 100%.

Apparently it?s going to hit THF a lot harder than NIN who are viewing it as a pretty heavy weakening (and rightly so). Because WAR/nin never operated at the TP floor they will be unaffected (which is odd considering S-E stated they wanted to reduce WAR reliance on /nin).

Now some other things I noticed by looking at AH.

BLU equip swords but are not limited to scimitar types as originally hinted at. Although they are unable to use the heavy broadsword type (which are WAR/PLD/DRK only) they can use things like Short Swords as well as cutlass and scimitar types.

COR can equip regular guns to attack although there choice is limited. Can?t remember the exact numbers but I think the number of equipable guns is comparable to the amount NIN can equip (although these are not the same. Some that NIN can equip that COR can?t and vice-versa).

Finally PUP can equip H2H but seem to be limited to claw types.

Tobal, I think the job balancing done so far is clearly the easiest things that were mentioned at Fan Festival. Changing Benediction and giving PLD Auto-Refresh aren?t the most difficult things to implement whereas some of the more ambitious changes discussed (such as opening up more weapon choices to WAR or having Summoning Skill affect Blood Pacts) probably require a lot more testing/time to implement.

As for Mog Locker, seems fine to me. All the restrictions it has (fees, Near East access only) were warned about when it was announced. It?s a place to store items that you want to keep but have no need to have regular access too. Personally I have around 20 Rare/EX pieces of equipment that I can?t use on my current jobs but want to keep as they are excellent gear should I eventually take appropriate jobs up (I have things like Shaman?s Cloak, Assault Jerkin, Loxley Bow etc.) Putting these in the mog locker will free up a crap load of space for me but the restrictions on access won?t hinder me that much. Another use will be the Event items that are not currently storable on NPC (the eggs, Dash Sash etc.)

Speaking of eggs, does that Orphic egg take effect when an enemy bard uses a song on you, or only if it's a support song?

Well had a quick nosey adn PLD has received a huge buff to give us more parity with NIN. From looking at what I can see here's what we got

Auto-Refresh - not sure of the level but gives 1mp per tick so like using basic juices.
Shield Mastery - we now gain TP when we shield block

Damage taken when shield procs has been reduced and proc rate has been increased. Be interested to see what it means in real terms but my shield proc was already high so could see a 5% - 15% drop in damage taken per fight.

                      As for ToAU, looks amazing.

CoP 4-2 I can't do till next week, tonight is my last evening here before I head up to Sheffield for a few days with friends and my weekend is already full. Looks like we're looking at a long pause while talizker gets back.

At least the TP balancing makes Sam TP gain rain supreme, take that dual wielding, triple attacking thief?s. After the Rng?s balancing, and now thief?s, the only job that can get close is a hasted monk.

                          Might also scupper the way I've been able to play smn ; ;

Is it as straightforward as saying TP is now rounded down instead of up or something? There are no specifics given in that update.

As CoP is Now on hold how about finishing Rank Missions and doing some more Zilart Missions.

I think Bevan wants to get Rank 10 too, I know Rare is also Rank 9 so maybe we can arrange to do that this week.

I would like to catch up rank if people would be able to help, I'm on 7-2 right now so not far behind. 7-2 is a 6 man BC but I think we could trio it to get onto rank 8. If you guys can help out I think I would be able to join you on rank 10 soon. Like I say I'm stuck for play time till next week though.

I presume you melee on SMN with staff in which case I don?t think you will be hindered (in fact, it seems as though high delay weapons have benefited slightly).

I?ll try and explain it best I can.

TP return per hit is based on the delay of your weapon. Higher delay = higher TP per hit. I?m not sure of exact figures but I think it may have been 40 delay = 1tp on the old system. However, there was a ?TP floor? whereby if your delay was less than 200 you would get 5tp anyway. I think it was NIN and THF that had this and obviously it made up for the rather low DMG of their weapons. They gain TP at a rate of a 200 delay weapon but were actually attacking quicker than that.

I don?t think the change is as simple as saying TP is rounded down, it?s just the TP calculation will now give TP lower than 5 per swing if the delay warrants it. Remember that TP is not restricted to being calculated in whole numbers (it?s generally accepted that ?Store TP?+1 = an extra 0.1tp per hit) but the on screen display does not reflect this.

This explains the weird numbers I was getting this morning (9tp first attack round, 10tp second attack round). To simplify it I could have been getting 4.75 per swing which would have meant the first round gave me 9.5tp (which the game displayed as 9). However it kept track of the .5 remaining so when I got the next attack round in I got another 9.5. If the game was rounding down I would have had 18tp by this point but I got 19 as it kept track of the .5 returns.

However prior to the update I got 10tp every attack round guaranteed (if I didn?t miss )
