Well do you never seem to learn from your mistakes, which tend to cause failure when you're in a roll of importance and mostly tend to be basic stuff a 4/5 year vetern of the game should know, RDM is your first job 75 and learning to use it should not be out of the question. If you going to kite use protection(veil/phal/ss/blink/uts) and a earth staff will get you long way, equiping the standard rdm AF could would give a 15% spell interupt and fastcast. Other mistakes like kiting next to the big boss which was putting out nasty Aoe damage after what should have been obvious using ranged DD and you managed to get hit by both divine judgements putting the whm and brd under pressure. If you want advice if you can't do something ask, just don't expect everything to get answered with questions like "take me to the acid gate", something a quick look on a wiki page would give you.

Daragon, I'm really sorry to hear you've received such bad news and I hope if there is any way things can improve, they do. I hope you realise that others playing FFXI often have serious, real-life issues on their minds too. Perhaps they take it more seriously because of that (everyone deals with things differently). It's probably always a good idea to think about whether you can approach a group activity with the same level of committment as the other players before participating, in any circumstances.

Had really good fun yesterday, seemd to get loads done! My gear is finally recovering but getting real tight on teh old gilz now. Hecate's Cape defo seems to be a good buy for blm.

Really need to sit down and make more time on my macros, found out im missing some in emergency situations!!

We will have to sort a day out to do Alex again and do Odin. Anyone got any ideas? Maybe like rep said try odin after Ein on Wed? Not far to change jobs etc if we need to.

We also need to get rep caught up on wings. We sure had fun on the sandy ones yesterday and rare has a new orc friend that he conquered in the end

Wednesday onwards is good for me, I have a job interview tomorrow which I need to develop a piece of software for, the requirements which I only get today

Hecate's Cape is good, but i'm pretty sure Ixion still beats it in 8/10 situations. There's some testing on one of the forums I think.

I personally think our priority should be catching Rep up with the WotG quests so we can make a start on the remaining set of missions and be fully ready for the new quests after the update next week (remember the three nation quest lines get finished so there is likely to be some reward involved).

After yesterday I certainly don't see any problem getting him finished with the San d'Oria ones (that second quest battle was awesome and would gladly do it again anyway) and the orc I'd like to test out Wiki's assurance that RDM and NIN can duo.

Bastok may be a little trickier because our clear was very specific so may need to tweak that somewhat. And the first Windurst quest we could repeat easily so I'm willing to hold off finishing the Windurst line until Rep is ready.

We will have to get a good grp together for the BC after that orc, to me it was pretty hard, not sure how hard it was for the rest of you as i was just holding the NM PLD orc.

I don't think there are any of the missions you can't duo apart from maybe the Bastok slime, I know I duoed all the windy missions with Ceridwen PLD + RDM.

In other news finally cleared the Moogle add on, now time to focus on ASA.

So I'm now due to get my head piece they all look a bit crappy though. I think a head for RDM and BLM is the plan any advice I was thinking of:

                INT +4 MACC +2
                MAB +2 HMP +3

The alternative is the +Fast Cast and INT, All the combos frankly are a bit rubbish.

The Champion's Galea is hawt for DD

                  DEF: 24 HP +15 "Counter" +3
                  STR+4 Weapon Skill Accuracy +15
                  Accuracy+10 Attack+5

Just started moogle last night, so far meh.

The Walk of Echoes Beckons! (15/06/2010)

The upcoming version update will see a section of the long-awaited Walk of Echoes area opened for access. There, adventurers will find thrilling new battlefields tailored to pose a challenge to seasoned veterans.

                      The Walk of Echoes

At the behest of a certain moogle of dubious origin and purpose, brave and trusting adventurers shall step forth into a realm forgotten by time. Upon arrival, they will encounter gateways to myriad battlefields wherein fearsome adversaries lie in wait. Conquer each battlefield in succession, and the opportunity to square off against mightier foes and reap richer rewards shall be granted to you.

                      The Rules of Engagement

To facilitate ease of access, the development team has omitted from the Walk of Echoes the need to lay claim to battlefields. Even if a battle has already been joined, it is possible for other adventurers to step in midway and lend their sword arms to the struggle, so long as the participant limit permits. Moreover, in the same vein as battles waged in Besieged and Campaign, enemies are not claimed when engaged by individual combatants. Battlefield participants are encouraged to use this freedom to their strategic advantage in the effort to dispatch the enemy hordes.

                      Copious Rewards

Materials used in the synthesis of all-new equipment level 76 and beyond form but a small part of the veritable treasure trove of items that awaits dauntless adventurers. Furthermore, ample opportunities to obtain a share of the spoils have been made available as follows:
                      - All battlefield participants may cast lots upon items dropped by monsters.
                      - Vanquishing all foes within the allotted time will produce a treasure chest, and only those participants whose contribution to the battle was deemed satisfactory will be granted the right to cast lots upon the contents.
                      - Highly evaluated combatants will be further rewarded with bounty befitting their standing.

*To enjoy the battle content offered in the Walk of Echoes, players must be level 70 or above and have progressed to the "Cait Sith" mission of the Wings of the Goddess expansion.
So it's a giant Union then. Amazing!

                      Where are the job updates?

                      Comment

Given that the update should probably be due any day now, I'd say they're either not happening, or they're too small and pathetic to warrant a feature on the website.

Any view on the mage hat, given I've already got PLD headpieces better than this one it's where I'm heading.

Have you done ASA as yet then DJ?

                          And how about WotG?

                          Comment

Not really looked at the pld head. tbh i think the DD WS peice you can make is by far the best.

Nop not even started ASA yet, im working hard to get through Moogle now and as soon as ive finished that (hopfully by sunday if i get lucky with getting the fights done) ill get that next. If your only just makin a start if you want to get up to were you need more than 1 then we can go through it together.

                            As for Wings

I need Howl from the Heavens (Quest 11) for the windy part but done the sandy and bastok missions at that point.

                            Then im upto mission 31.

First of I'm aware people are waiting for me to catch up, I've been playing 30mins a day this week for a quick break. I'm trying desperately to find a job, as I no longer have Uni to fall back on. So people can appreciate I'm quite busy at the moment.

I can long on tomorrow evening to do whatever mission/quest needs doing, as a request though I don't feel like organising anything myself, so if someone else could do, that'd be nice.

ASA Head: I took the INT/MAB/HP+ one, although now I'm regretting not taking a cure pot. one.
