I saw that podcast and considered putting it on the nano to listen to at work but something in my head said don't, I don't know, just heard some gaming podcasts that were too geeky and made me cringe, over hyped Americans come to mind.

But I may give it a try regardless.

Yeah your spot on with that matey - most of them are indeed truly aweful. The only game ones I listen to regulaly are Major Nelson and Orange Lounge Radio both of which I really enjoy. Figured I would give the FFXI a try mind, especially as I seem to be lacking in info regarding the Fan Fest thing.

I didn't think Wedge was ready for WHM, at least that was the subtext I took from Tobal's "bring lots of potions" comment. Might be a problem for me with my limited inventory but I shouldn't be taking masses of hits anyway.

Even if wedge did have lvl40 whm, i would suggets bring 6-10 potions anyway to insure a win, cos i am what you don't use can allways be sold back.

It would be best if tsing went war/nin or war/mnk as its knock back AoE will have you if your standing behind it, if we use the wall hugging method it will send you to your doom!

Ok my first post was sorted pretty easy and i finally got online, it runs without a hitch on a 1.7 centrino laptop in highest resolution! was really happy it looks so sharp ( I dont have HDTV) so this was like a breath of fresh air compared to the 360 version, I managed to configure the pad exactly the same which helps. What I thought was crazy though was the prices of items in the game, for example on the beta earth crystals cost 30-40 gil at an ah on the fairy server I just looked at 500 gil double you tee eff? bonkers!

But as for item prices its really no different as the things you sell are at an equally higher price ratio.

What level had you got to on the 360 beta?

Slightly underwhelmed by the completion of Chains of Promathia chapter 3, but I can?t quite highlight why.

I remember when I came out of the Promyvion spires and the Mammets fight at Monarch Linn, I felt a great sense of achievement at what we did.

The Promyvions were the perfect epitome of teamwork. I had to dual tank with Moot (which I hadn?t done since getting Utsusemi: Ni) and we had to co-ordinate the use of anima to cripple the empty.

Mammets was slightly different as a good part of that was dependent on my performance practically solo as I kept one of the mammets busy.

3-5 lacked something. It could have been the fact it took 2 attempts took some of the shine off it or maybe because I died on our successful run, right at the end, despite still having 2 Hi-Pots and 2 X-Pots in my inventory (which means I died unnecessarily).

However, it could also because I felt it was down to a bit of luck regarding whether the enemy used a certain move or not and if he does, you are pretty much done for.

Still at least we get to move on to chapter 4 Hopefully that great CoP feeling will return.

Sounds to me like you need to do ZM8 - my experience at least of victory REALLY got the old heart pounding. Entering the fight with a party of 70+s really helped get me more confident of success, the group even had the whole fight planned out well in advance, giving each member their role.

Wel, suffice to say our plan went to bollocks by the time Kammy had wiped out the meleers, leaving just me and 1 brave little taru blm. Together, we managed to rid him of his last 5% hp and finish him off with tier 4 magic - the fight however was literally down to a knife edge and could have VERY easily gone the other way.
