I wish my PC Engine was that shade of white

The pictures are long gone in this thread but it might be worth a read if you've got a yellowed PCE.

I posted this over at the PC-Engine FX forums but I figured the information might be useful here too. I bought a PC-Engine Duo-R the other week and like most of them doing the rounds these days (check eBay or Yahoo Japan) it was a bit yellow. As a collector, this wasn't acceptable; so I set out to make wrongs right. The below is written out for a PC-Engine Duo-R, but obviously any yellowed system should be much the same. Other PC-Engine systems or accessories, Model 1 SNESes, etc. Because

Thanks! I'm tempted to give it a go, but I'm a little wary about taking the CD-ROM unit apart...

            Haha!

Good luck navigating past the giant pair of shears that I'll deploy to foil said invert-rappelling tomfoolery!

Yellow or white the PCE is still a lovely machine.

              Hi Yakumo,
Thanks for the info on Undercover Cops. Yeah, it's pretty expensive and I would like a nice boxed one - I might be able to stretch to it at some point though. It's great that your thinking of doing another show, I know how much life changes once the little ones arrive The Retro Core Revival thread that has popped up after your comment is pretty cool. I only found out about it towards the end, but that did mean that I had a really great time watching them back to back once I'd downloaded them all and I still watch them now from time to time. There really has never been anything quite like it. I know the show kickstarted my interest in import retro gaming in a big way - especially on the Saturn stuff. Thanks for all the work you did to get them out, it must have taken a huge effort to put them out every month.

Unlikely to see this before Easter now, and I have to pay for that pleasure.

                      Cheers.

Though for me it's length of time they'll make me wait before I can pay the charges that hurt more. The charges I accept it's the EMS timescales that will end up out of whack and Parcelfarce levy a service charge, what service?

Their system needs revamping especially the time at which you can pay the charges. The last item I got charged for I knew after a phone call to customs exactly how much I had to pay 3 days before Parcelfarce would actually let me pay them at the depot.

Good job I have other bounty coming.

Whilst Nekketsu KouKou Monogatari has still to clear customs.

*Update 20-03-2008 21:16 International Hub RELEASED WITH CHARGES

                        Yay!

My guesstimate at the upcoming charge would be £35.24 or thereabouts as they will use their own exchange rate for $ into £. I guess somebody somewhere is feeling pretty happy with themselves.

                          WOOT!

A trip to the not so local Parcleforce depot and £30.80 (no duty levied just VAT & the mandatory service charge) and it's here.

                          Nekketsu KouKou Monogatari

Also takes me to 50 for my PCE collection.

A couple of cheap (Pokemon was ?1) puzzlers that have arrived over the past month. Megalit has insanely addictive music.

Silent Scope GBA is almost as good as the PS2 version. Dodge Ball is part of the Nekketsu series (if only someone would release the NeoGeo version). Surprised by Steel Empire - a lot better looking than the Megadrive version. Drill Dozer is an excellent platformer that was forgotten near the end of the GBA life.
