Dropzone? I haven't seen that one.. got a pic?

Excellent Dizzy Collection? That's extremely rare isn't it.. I remember finding it cart-only in Lancaster Gamestation.. it went for around ?30 on eBay IIRC..

Nice find.. didn't know Blockbuster would take such old games ? strange..

I've not seen the GG version of Dropzone in a long time... the GBC version though was almost as good as the Atari/C64 versions imo...

From left to right top to bottom:
Slider, Phantom 2040, factory panic, dragon crystal, asterix, psychic world, shinobi II, fantasy zone and then the 2 picks, dropzone and the excellent dizzy colleciton.

They must have had another 50+ gg games there. I picked out the 10 that I haven't got.

@ Mayhem re Dropzone: The Atari is the best one for me. Though I quite like the SNES one, too. Never seen the GG version - is it any good?

Is there some reason why the Code Masters carts are so much bigger?

They're probably unlicensed carts. Their Mega Drive ones were the same.

EDIT: So were their NES ones too, and perhaps some others.

These are licensed, or so it says on the carts.

I haven't played it yet but will report back when I have done.

Man, GG Shinobi II. I loved that game. Up there with Defenders of Oasis as one of my favourite GG games, but less people seem to remember that

It's always been my understanding that Codies manufactured their own cartridges so that they didn't have to pay licensing fees to Sega and Nintendo. Maybe it's more complicated than I thought.

back in the nes days the only way to avoid using nintendo manufactured carts was to be unlicensed, since it was part of the deal that licensees had to use them. so if the nes one's are a strange shape it suggests to me they were unlicensed. i think i remember seeing a four in one cart or something for the nes that had the original linus spacehead game that definitely didn't look normal. maybe they kept the odd cart shape after they became licensees because they are distinctive

I recall GG Dropzone being okay... not as good as the computer versions naturally, or the GBC version afair. Didn't really like Super Dropzone over the original.
