Had a quick run of Downtown Nekketsu Soreyuke Daiundoukai and it's very well presented and you can pick from one of four different teams and then pick on member from that team for an event.

The only event I played was the cross country which involves running to the next screen whilst bashing your opponents with weapons that are lying around or just using you fists elbows etc... luckily health restoring items can be found on route.

What's great is that it's just mad crazy, you start off normal enough, but soon enough your running through someones house jumping on or over their dinner table whilst smacking up your opponents. Then up onto rooftops and even swimming in the local water works. I did stop outside the girls college just for a breather mind. Mad I tell you.

I eventually finished the first race plum last and on the second attempt came in third which was only good enough to see the game over screen after getting yelled at by my Cheerleader. Points seem to be awarded for being aggresive and for moving to the next screen area first. Definitely one to invest some time to in the future and I'm glad I picked it up.

Re: Darius II I just played the disc as a normal audio CD and it played the level 1 music as the first track. So, I'm assuming that their is no attract music which I can understand for the arcade but it seems odd on a home release given that there's a bit of an animated introduction. The route select screen also doesn't have a soundtrack. great game though and whilst it doesn't have a Zuntata soundtrack, T Music have put together a very good soundtrack of their own.

Also I've just fired up the Saturn version for comparison and apart from sound effects for the introduction there's no BGM for the attract mode, so all is well.

Thanks for the offer for the iso link but my main PC since the turn of the year has been an ASUS eeePC so no CD rom drive, also I fear that it would corrupt me should I start to play the romz!

I hope no-one minds me posting what is my current software line-up. Just the 4 consoles and all retro, PCE, Saturn, MD and SFC.

I rate all MD collections on magical flying hat, if you don't have it in your collection then it gets graded as crap everyone who owns a MD should have it by law, dosent matter how many rare shootemups or other games, no flying hat no admiration

I got the 2 Turbo Grafx games to test the region mod I plan on doing on my PCE (and I always wanted to try Vigilante back in the day). I would be nice to get boxed games, the packaging is great on some of them.

I had a go at Ghouls yesterday, way harder than I remember - can't believe I actually completed this when it was released!

Whew! I looked past the dearth of Shooters and saw that I have a copy of Magical Flying Hat my collection is saved!

Bort that's a nice bright PCE you have there, I also like that monitor, 2 things especially, the knobs on the front for manually tweaking the picture and the little light indicating whether the source is PAL/SECAM/NTSC or NTSC4.43, quality.

My postman is going to get a talking to on Monday, I was upstairs when I heard a crunching scrapping sound of him trying to ram stuff through the letterbox instead of ringing the bell.

Thanks to mezzanine's foresight this escaped unscathed.
