I love Cannon Fodder. They should do a wii version.

It's been a very long time since I posted anything in this thread. The last few weeks have brought me DoDonPachi Satakore version which cost more than the full price release strangely. Also Final Romance 2 and Mahjong Gakuensai to help complete that full JPN Saturn set.

Got a copy of Dead Or Alive Ultimate on XBox for £1.99 from Gamestation earlier.

Don't think the XB is 'retro' yet, but disc 1 houses what I believe to be an unenhanced, arcade perfect version of DOA 1*.

Pretty chuffed that both games run on the 360, with seemingly no graphical issues - disc 2 looks pretty stunning through HD (just fighting Bass on a fantastic Africa-set level, with hippos, elephants, meerkats, ruddy excellent).

Yeah, £1.99. 100% 360 BC. My faith is restored in humanity.

Nice work... the Jag I bought had T2K, an RGB scart cable and a spinner controller with it. Partly why I bought it

Sorry mate but it's the excellent Saturn port not the arcade.

yes, it is the Saturn version. Regarded by err, what's his face?? The guy who came up with Dead or Alive. Anyway, he regards the Saturn version to be the ultimate version and I can see why. Not only does it look better than any Sega made Saturn 3D fighter but plays far better than the arcade original. The PlayStation version while ok just isn't the same plus it doesn't look as nice even though it has some flashy lighting effects.

The PSOne version isn't really a conversion, it's it's own game featuring the DOA cast.....and does look extremely snazzy running in its hi-res mode, cool version imo.

^Ah, that's why I put the asterisk in there (though forgot to add an asterisked statement beneath)!

Thanks for the info, I don't like to delude myself (I was thinking, despite how nice & smooth it is, the characters do look a little lacking in polygons in certain areas, like the hands) - and I guess the Saturn IS regarded as retro, so my post is entirely appropriate now.

Hi. Does anyone know whether the limited edition version of Dead or Alive (with the cardboard sleeve) came with a spine card?

                        Thanks,
                        Jase

Mine did. From memory the game inside is just the same case as the normal version. So it could be possible that someone put a normal game in to a special edition case in my case since it was bought used.

I've never played Metal slug six so decided to pick this up today from the local video store. Brand new and only 2000Yen.

A bargain when you consider it has 7 great games on it!

Not strictly retro, but kinda. This arrived from those lovely chaps at Genki Video Games, and for a nice price, too.

........and the bargain find of this month..................

Picked up a copy of Naruto for the Gamecube at a new outlet of Grainger Games in Hull - £5!!! All instructions and box in English!!

Not the best bargain but still a damned good find - again at Grainger Games, picked up Ressurection (Rise of the Robots2) for the PS1 complete for a measly quid!!

Idiots usually ask for about £30 for disc only or instructionless copies on ebay.

Other less impressive but still good bargains -

DC PAL Streetfighter TS and DI minty fresh for £15 each.
