I think the qulaity of animation is stunning, even rivaling the perfection of 3rd Strike. Even though I haven't devoted that much time to it I would rate it as SNK's finest fighter. It's kind of SNK's equivalent of 3rd Strike with a mainly new cast, smallish roster and refined gameplay physics. I love the sense of impact and violence when big moves connect, the polar opposite of trash like SVC Chaos.

For me, MotW is the best looking game ever. Massive, chunky sprites and the animation still looks jaw-dropping even now.

        Third Strike is better. lol

Garou is my fav SNK fighter though.

        B Jenet ftw!

For someone like me, who love's the idea of fighting games yet isn't particularly great at them, the joy of Garou is that it's so accessible and easy to play. In fact, I find it an absolute joy. It's the only fighting game I've ever really invested a shedload of time in to. The mix of stunning for it's time (and still are in my opinion) graphics with the already mentioned fantastic gameplay make it one of my all time favourites. I tend to zone out when people heavily in to fighting games start banging on about techniques that mean bugger all to me, but with this game I can just do my own thing, and have a cracking time in doing so.

          Oh, and Jae Hoon rules!

Mark of the Wolves is a title that has constantly eluded me. I might have to get the wife to pick it up when she goes to Japan.
Unless the PS2 version should be avoided?

PS2 version has horrible loading times, but it's okay.

I got me the Dreamcast version personally.

I could never get on with the DC version for some reason.

                  Dreamcast pads probably. ;p

Yeah, there is that thing with that game for me that I can only associate playing it with a NEO stick or on my cab, otherwise it just feels wrong. Though that most likely makes no sense........

Oh I understand, like I'll only use official stuff, be it cables or controllers. Sort of.

Surely all the 'love' for Garou is just people trying to justify paying the ridulous prices it fetches?

                        It's wank!

                          Not really, it's great.

I've never paid more than ?15 for it. Although, I've never owned it properly. Hur.
