That boxart for Goemon is awful though isn't it. The PAL release actually looked better for once (in my opinion!). Mystical Ninja 2 also has awesome boxart for the PAL release.

Been interested in getting that myself. Is the original game, Revenge of Doh, or anything else like that on there, or is it just the new blinged-up version?

              According to the back there's:-

              2 player mode
              Arcade mode and Extra mode.
Squash mode (as in 2 players take turns in hitting the ball)
Edit mode! (create your own block madness)

Sounds like decent value for monkey.

Mad Gear, do you have the Namco PS1 paddle controller - supposedly it works with the Taito Arkanoid game too. Wondering how well.

Gunners Heaven turned up today. Lovely looking game but it really is horribly derivative. Still it doesnt play too bad so all's well.

I haven't got the Namco paddle but i've got one that came with Puchi Carat somewhere that might work.
It's also mouse compatible and i've got a PS one hiding somewhere.

Might interest some of you as this is Japanese

Before Commodore launched the Vic20 in the West, they actually sold it in Japan months before as a sort of "trial" to test the waters of the East. Many of the early Vic20 games were written by HAL Labs, yes the same development place we know today. The same HAL Labs that current Nintendo president Satoru Iwata came from, and wrote the game Star Battle for the machine

So yeah this is it. Very hard to find, especially complete. You have to hold down I think shift and the Commodore key on power up to switch to Japanese mode where the keys turn into script characters instead of the romanji alphabet.

That's pretty cool. I have some Hal games for the MSX. I wonder what else they did before joining Nintendo.

Fairly common, I suppose, but not had/used one before. A bit of a novelty for my like, not a bad controller...

Came with a bunch of PS2 stuff I bought, which had a few controllers with it. The seller must of had some taste as RRV was pretty much 100% complete, along with all the footy crap he had (and yet hadn't even played judging by the memory cards that also came with the system).
