That splatterhouse is lovely Neostuey. That's on my to get list, I never knew the boxart of the engine version was so damn nice.

Not a patch on the Towns cover (or conversion) though.

Ta, it's been really well looked after too so I was well please when it arrived.

Daimakaimura - I keep getting tempted to buy the SGX version and a SGX just to play it on, though I'm sure the X68000 version is better version being near enough arcade perfect.

I sure would like to play that version. Not sure about the cover being better though.

Got this in the post when those two PC Engine games arrived but forgot to take the picture off my camera.

96 page fanzine from 1993 which I got for the original cover price of £3.00.

It's made for some pretty interesting reading, there's a history of the PCE from '87 - '93. A page announcing that the Arcade Card is coming soon, with screenshot comparisons. Some neat accessories, 6 button arcade stick. Game preview and game guide with 230+ one paragraph reviews and scores etc.

Gor that brings back memories. Richard Gibbs was a star. I would love to know what he is doing now. The original `print` had a thick paper yellow sleeve. Why was his name a code in Devil Crash. Was that his real name? Some things will always be a mystery.

Arcade to Marty screens can be seen here

As for the cover..don't get me wrong the pce cover is lovely (I'm a pce nut lol) but the marty cover is here

and in my eyes there is no comparison. (the marty front cover is 3-4 times the pce size)

Stop! That cover is far too menacing for me, even moreso, now I know how big it is. I'll stick by the cartoon violence of the PCE cover.

I much prefer the PC-Engine cover. The Marty one is menacing, but it's basically a rip-off of the Friday the 13th video covers.

I had a look on google. Here is the 8bit computer box

Now that is much more horrible. I'm surprised they allowed it on the shelves.

Ahh, Friday the 13th The Computer Game, I had that on my C64. Can't remember ever finishing it, I seem to remember it being not very coherent.

For me, the Marty cover is still the more menacing, it's the lighting in the drawing that does it.

                      Anyway, I made a Rick Taylor smilie this morning;

                      He is smiling honest.

Dexterity & Pop Up for the Gameboy arrived today via eBay. Don't know much about them, but they were listed in the puzzle section & were going cheap, so I snapped them up.

Yeah... I looked at it again, and it does grow on you.

Erm, pretty much the whole point of the Mask/Rick character in Splatterhouse is that he's a (heroic) rip-off of Jason Voorhees. So it's hard to be even more rippy-offy of a game of a character you're already ripping off.

                                I think.

That's why the mask is different in the Splatterhouse sequels (i.e. more skully and less hockeymasky).
