I've got a pretty decent collection of PS1 games now and was just wondering what other games people round these parts hold in high regard.

Just to see if thers's any titles that may have slipped me by.

Oo, puzzle games. You definitely want to track down a copy of Puchi Carat, then. Hybrid of Puzzle Bobble and Arkanoid that somehow manages to be a superb game in its own right, rather than the mess that description might suggest. Great selection of different play modes and a really enjoyable two player. Don't think it ever got a US release, either, so that's another bonus for a PAL collector.

have you given Power Diggerz a go? JVC Music Europe Ltd (the daft, probably-no-longer-existing, cocks) released it in PAL territories. Of course, if you can get the Japanese version (complete with rather smart controller) then go for that. Also, it's probably emulated on MAME by now, look for Power Shovel Simulator by Taito (don't you know). I reviewed this game when I worked on a "leading" UK PlayStation magazine and awarded it 90(odd)%, so it's good (well, I liked it).

Don't be put off by the 'z' in the title of the PAL release, but do be put off by the sloppy conversion (nasty borders and all). Anyhoo, if you're in Gloucester then do give me a shout and I'll drop you off a spare copy of the game (if I can find it), and no, I don't want to touch you.

I agree Puchi Carat is a great little game. I play it alot in two player. It even came as a special edition with a rotary controller.

Thanks for the replies guys there's a few games on there i shall need to investigate. I saw Ray Tracers yesterday, picked it up, looked at it thought about buying it but did'nt. Will pick it up Monday (provided it's still there).
