Aww, crap ! Doesn't look like I'll be able to download it then since I'm on Vodafone. I was going to get Sega Rally the other day. Looks really smart but the sods have made it a 3G exclusive ! I hate it when companies do crap like that. The game would run fine on a non-3G phone since 3G phones use the same software and hardware as other modern phones.

It's been a while since I've added any of the games for my mobile so here's a few that I've been playing over the last few months.

First up is the best one - Parodius Da !

As you can see above, the graphics are very close to the original arcade version. This game looks beautiful on the mobile's screen. Not only does it look good but it also sounds good !! All music & sound effects are in there from the arcade. The only thing missing is the speech. Playability wise you can't go wrong. The only slight downer is that two stages are missing (volcano stage and the one where you have to navigate small tunnels.) Still, it does retain 6 of the stages plus also has a high detail level on or off option so that even older phones can run it.

Next is Bio Hazard the Missions

Surprisingly not too bad. The game isn't one big quest like the "real" Bio Hazard games but sort of a load of mini tasks. Graphically it's very nice, as are the controls but it could have done with some more sound effects. All that's present are the Zombie groans and the voice for those giant frog looking things. Oh and Jill's gun and voice when she's being attacks which sounds more like a porno actress. Loads of extras in this one which will keep you going for ages !

        Power Drift is next

While Sega have done a very good job at keeping the arcade look on the mobile phone version they forgot to add any type of playability !! The controls are unresponsive and sometimes the car seems to control it's self !! Add the fact that you only need to get the slightest tap from a passing car and you'll be span right off the course does nothing to help the game. Music is also pretty weak with 10 second tracks that constantly repeat. Only 9 courses as well. Oh well, at least it looks like the arcade.

        Puyo Puyo 2

Possibly the best portable version of Puyo Puyo around ! Very good presentation just like the home systems plus good remakes of the music. Features all stages as well and of course plays just like Puyo Puyo. I was also surprised to see that they kept the voice samples in.

Last of all is Time Crisis Mobile

Namco should seriously get an arse kicking for this ! Not only does it cost more than most games (535yen) but also only has 3 bloody stages!! What a RIP ! Graphically it's nice and plays well but 3, yes THREE BLOODY STAGES !! Sega's House Of The Dead has the full game on it !

I got Parodius the other day and it`s mint, cheers chap. Also check out Twin Bee, it`s even more impressive than this if a bit slow/boring (like Twin Bee games are really).

Scramble also from Konami is very good, very slick and addictive.

Bishi Bashi is incredible-alot of fun for all types as is Numan Athelitics from Namco.

PacMania is a wonderful conversion too.

I also had Contra but deleted it as it was ****e.

This is what I have been tinkering with lately.

              Cheers.

Oh, thanks for the heads up on Contra. I was going to get that as well.

Here's what I've been playing over the last month.

                Initial D 3 Resource

More of the same really with the addition of cleaner presentation and now with semi auto controls which helps a lot.

                Rainbow Islands

Very impressive if not a little slow. Jam packed with everything from the arcade game. Great control as well !

                Tenchi Wo Kurau II

Not bad at all ! Features all the arcade characters plus bonus stages. The only thing that lets it down is the occasional stutter as it loads in the enemy character's animation frames.

Ys VI - The Ark of Napishtim

Just what you need for those long boring journeys to work and back. Ys VI is a wonderful action RPG that I'd even buy if it was a real console game ! This is quite old now since it was made in 2004 meaning that the 3D is a little choppy but not that bad at all.

Because companies know you'll accept ****e. It's true ! Panasonic and Sharp release phones in the UK but they look awful compared to the ones they release here. Why? Because they can and people just accept it. It's not only phones though. Cars get the same ****ty treatment. Even the ****test cars here have electric windows, electric mirrors, electric car aerials and are fitted with airbags, air conditioning and tinted to black glass as standard but in the UK all that is extra. Again, why?

My car only cost about 5'000 pounds (cars here are cheaper than the UK) brand new and has all the following as standard.

                    Driver & passenger airbags
                    ABS
                    Air conditioning
front tinted glass (wind screen and front sides)
rear privacy glass (black windows rear and sides)
                    CD multi changer
full electric windows, mirrors and aerial that fold away when parked
                    Inferred remote locking (all doors)
manual 5 speed gear box (I hate automatics)
                    4WD

all that is standard at no extra cost ! The Japanese are really lucky when it comes to service. I guess they expect it since they've always had it.

By the way, my car isn't some **** hot sports effort. Just a standard small car that's ideal for the city and even very fast on the motorway. One day I'll get a cool car.

My Mitsubishi EK Wagon (mine is dark metallic green)
