I know we've seen a bit of this guys stuff recently but I laughed when i saw the price for this one!
Lots of good stuff - shame it's so overpriced. I appreciate all of his auctions are in great nick but there's no way he's going to shift most of it.
this guy (from my own experience) has one of the most impressive collections of rarities Ive ever seen! Highly over priced...yes! But the stuff he has is just amazing!
Anybody hazard a guess at how much the 161 games will go for?
Word of warning guys his SNES stuff is really really over priced.
Megaman X £125 WOLFENSTEIN 3D £75 (I've seens ton of copies of this last one was £10 and it was mint)
HEBEREKE'S POPOON £125 (Again way over priced)
That's to name and shame but a few.
He does have some nice things there, it has to be said and I'm sure given enough time he will sell them at those insane prices.
Maybe he just puts these games on ebay to show off ? He can't seriously expect to get these kind of prices?!
You're probably right. I know that amongst American NES collectors there's this one guy who is notorious for putting his NES World Championships cart up on eBay semi-regularly just to show it off, and this guy has his priced at over ?3,600 so it's probably the same guy. Although it *is* very rare, I think there are less than 30 of the carts in existence.
Hmmm the US NTSC Version of MvC2 does demand silly prices, despite this one being a bit too silly...
@ sealed collectors
I got a really good condition Marvel Vs Capcom 2 Japanese PS2 for nearly ?60!! I'd been looking for it for ages and I finally found it! I paid ?60 as I wanted EMS Shipping but I was so happy to get the Japanese Version!
I'm willing to bet there's some account hijacking going on here. I've written about this kind of scam before, and it has all the hallmarks.
Typically two accounts are involved, one a brand new one and one that's had some prior (usually good) history on ebay, but hasn't been active for a while. They lob in a stupid bid sometime near the end from the newly registered account (usually electronics, mostly phones, psps etc), normally starting at around 600 quid and going up to about 900 odd (exactly the same as in the PSP example I link to). then the apparently "real" ebay profile swoops in and wins at the last minute.
Note that the bidder who sent the price into crazyland territory has only been registered for a day on ebay. Oh look - bids on PSPs, too. I'm willing to bet those auctions have been screwed over as well.
At this point, they try to con the seller into sending out the item before payment has been made, using the large amount of cash waiting for them as a bargaining chip. You'd be surprised how many sellers fall for it.
/ edit - in fact, here's an auction that's been scuppered in the same way, probably by the same people...especially as it leaps up to £666, same as the one above.
