"I completely fail to see how you can label Contra Spirits "truly dire", even if I agree with some of your points."

Because I don't enjoy it. The graphics are nothing special and neither is the music. It has no redeeming value to me. Give me Hard Corps any day.

      Spirits<<<<<<<<Hard Corps

I love Hard Corps SO MUCH! It just kept getting cooler and cooler and cooler. Especially the route after level one where you speed along the highway, fight the spider in the tunnel, then the huge ship thing bounding along THEN the big robot running after you. Crazy!

Spirits just felt slow and irritating after playing Hard Corps.

Don't forget if the game doesn't load first time.

        Just use the magic blow!
Haha yeah! I have to do that with most of my cart games nowadays...

            The Lost Vikings
            Super Tennis - Four Player!
            Unirally

I miss my SNES I remember the day I sold it so my mate could get F1 98 for his PS1. I am a twat sometimes.

Ooh, loads of top SNES games. Here are a few:

Street Racer - not as good as Mariokart but certainly gives it a run for its money.

Cameltry - Arcade conversion, like a 2D version of Super Monkeyball.

Battle Pinball - Jap only I think. Excellent pinball game - loads of tables and mucho variety in a Dragon's Fury stylee.

Super Dropzone - superb update of the C64 classic. Dropzone on crack.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Tournament Fighters - Excellent SF2 clone.

              Jay

Block, Catch, Bam-Bam-Kick-Ki-ki-ki-Kick OR Block, Catch, Bam-Bam-Kick-Ki-ki-kick, Throw!

Unirally, classic game. I loved the last world, when the anti-uni could cast "spells" on you.

                    You loved it?

It was pure evil! I used to have to replay every race hoping he would never cast the "reverse controls" spell on me!

Evilness is an integral part of good games. Like Super Monkey Ball, the urge to come back and beat all the levels was one of Unirally's finer points. Tyler is looking for the game and offered me ?10, but I wouldn't let it go

                              *bump*

Ahh, somewhere I can talk about Super Fami Sim City ^_^

I think it was the second game I ever imported. I don't think I played another for months after I got it either! I've been playing it on and off over the past couple of weeks. First on the Xbox, where emulation is terrible and then on the PC (I have teh cart, yarr!)

I was playing last night, got about $10k floating around. A second power station has been built to stop the brown outs. "More roads needed", feck off. Rail track all the way, keeps the pollution down. And then I fell asleep. Little Bethton continues on without me and when I awake, I've got half a million people living there, $400k in the bank

I've found that putting the city in doughnut shaped blocks seems to be the most efficient way of 'doing' a city. I remember doing this back in those hazy rose tinted days, it may have been recommended in Super Play, IIRC.

                              Code:
                              RRR|RRR|RRR|
                              R□R|R□R|R□R|
                              RRR|RRR|RRR|
                              -----------|
                              RRR|CCC|RRR|
                              R□R|CPC|R□R|
                              RRR|CCC|RRR|
                              -----------|
                              RRR|RRR|RRR|
                              R□R|R□R|R□R|
                              RRR|RRR|RRR|
                              ------------
'□' : Grass or special item (park, zoo, etc...)
                              'R' : Residential zone
                              'C' : Commercial
                              'P' : Police HQ

                              '-' or '|' : Rail

Get Police HQ (and fire...) by building 10 (?) police stations. A HQ has twice the coverage and still only costs $100 upkeep so replace the original stations. Not the most interesting of layouts but there is room for a little artistic design, especially around the larger structures like an airport, seaport or one's own house ^_^

Ahh, if only I could get that music out of my head.

Great game. Think I traded my copy years ago . Might hit eBay and see if I can pick up another copy.
