Fatal Fury just SNK experimental rubbish, the only decent pre-MOTW Garou was RB2.

SS and LB are teh king.
It's too bad SNK didn't keep going from strength to strength or else we'd be on Garou 5 by now.

Naa, Fatal Fury has always been a experimental fighter and has often suffered because of SNK idea?s, RB was just FF gaining AoF quality sprites with the meaty impacts AoF is associated without the complete crapness of course, and then stapled on that god awful super meter with about 10 different setting?s(ok it 3 setting x 2 SDM but still it bloody stupid), getting infinite crappy super?s is game breaking, and the step out/in function got a few more moves to it, but is no-where as needed or as useful as Parrying or Just Defence is. The Reason MOTW is so good is cos SNK ditched the experimental rubbish in FF.

You'll have trouble getting a definitive answer on this one, because everyone has a different favourite
My personal fave is '98 (called '99 on Dreamcast) as it felt like a logical progression of style from '95 which I played a lot in the arcade bunking off school.
I felt like '96 and '97 changed styles a little drastically and didn't feel right to me, but that may have been down to me being more used to a Street Fighter 2 style of play, which '95 and '98 alluded to much more.
My KoF98 MVS cart is one game I will never sell.
