Demolition Man was a pleasant surprise. The visuals were very good, and I enjoyed the variety of the levels.

It really shouldn't have worked very well, considering how much of a mish-mash of styles the game contained, but it actually worked well.

Not a brilliant game, but very good.

I have Space Hulk, and it is impressive( must have really been amazing back in 95 ) .... The genre isn't my cup of tea though.

As much as some people hate the early Crystal Dynamics games, I enjoyed Total Eclipse and Off World Interceptor.

Another fun game, was The Horde

You have to build and manage a village, and now and then you have to protect the village folk from the rampaging monsters( The Horde ) ... The 2D visuals are nice, and it's quite a charming game overall.

I still have my Panasonic 3DO.

I really still like the machine it has some really good games , Some of my favs would be Killing Time , Need For Speed, Fifa (pretty amazing at the time) Super Wing Commander (though not as good as the Mega CD version), Star Control II, Star Fighter (overlooked gem) , Crash and Burn .

I really wanted to like Space Hulk but found it way too hard , amazing audio and Atmosphere though , you could sh8t your self playing this game in the dark on your own

Fifa was impressive, but I didn't enjoy it. Me and my mates played ISSDeluxe on the snes instead; what a great game that was.

When I was given a 3DO, it was before Road Rash & Need For Speed came a long, so there weren't many games around. I bought Slayer, which really impressed me. It's not usually my type of game, but the big, bold visuals, and creepy atmosphere, really gripped me.

I never did play the sequel to Slayer. I might try to find a copy.

          The MD versions was better

All jokes aside nothing could touch Sensible Soccer (even now) thats the best football game I've played and to me the Mega CD version is the best . But Fifa onthe 3DO was leading the way to how all football games would go (3D) and at the time was bloody impressive .

I also thought Fifa onthe Mega CD was bloody impressive too

I didn't have the MD version. I'll have to try it out.

I love football games, but Sensible Soccer didn't get played as much as ISS. Both games were excellent, but ISS just had that arcade style look I enjoyed.

I used to really enjoy Super Formation Soccer on the snes. I know that it's dodgy, but at the time, it looked really impressive, and the happy bright visuals and catchy match-music, really appealed to me.

I remember liking Hat Trick Hero too ... Such a simplistic game, but the colourful arcade visuals and over-the-top style, put a smile on my face. It was a bit rubbish though.

            I'll try any footy game.

FIFA on the 3DO was the last game in the series I actually enjoyed. The other EA Sports titles on the 3DO were also miles ahead of the MD and SNES versions.

My favourite sports games on the 3DO were Slam n Jam 95 and Battle Sport. Battle Sport was a sort of one on one Speedball 2 with hover tanks instead of human avatars. A bit limited in single player but great in multiplayer.
Slam n Jam 95 was a basketball game from Crystal Dynamics and looked amazing compared to NBA Jam and played very well.

                I had a Panasonic NTSC 3do. Cost a fortune.
                Fave games were (in order):

Return Fire - The greatest 2 player game ever made
Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo - I modded my original controller to enable Hadoukens and Dragon Punches
Space Hulk : Vengeance of the blood angels
                Wing Commander 3
                Need for speed
The Horde - "I was raised by a herd of wild cows!"

Great machine. I was really excited for the M2 add-on which never materialised.

Mega thread bumpage, but I'v just realised (to my dismay) that the pal version of "Way Of The Warrior" on the 3DO doesn't work on an NTSC machine. Bah.

I miss my 3do I bought it solely for SSF2X and Samurai Shodown, both of which kept me entertained for ages. I didn't realise it was multi region at the time. I never had a sampler CD ever so I never got to delete the save games on the thing. A very well built machine though, and at the time before the PSX came out, there was nothing like it. I will always have fond memories of playing NFS on my 3DO when I knew very few people had one. It was extremely difficult to buy games for it in my town too, the only bespoke console shop wanted £79.99 for SSF2X, needless to say I didn't pay it and eventually bought it new in virgin megastore when I went to plymouth one day, for £29.99.

                    sigh

It was a very impressive port at the time. But the missing animation and messed up voice samples really hurt it nowadays...

Well I'v had a shot of Samurai Shodown now and I'm very impressed. A great conversion and the feel is spot on.

As a bonus my copy had a demo disc of Super Street Fighter 2 X in the back of the box. First time I'v properly played the 3DO version and it's brilliant. Love the music and again the feel of the game is there. Very impressive.

True that 3DO soundtrack is worth the admission fee, it's on the PS2 version if any modonaires wanna catch it!

Skull Commander's 3do revival has inspired me. My 3do is a pal effort though so I'm considering making the switch to an ntsc console. Been playing Megarace (i'm glad you didn't want it now commander:P)and it's still great to me. I had the pc version originally. Wouldn't mind having a blast at crash 'n' burn as it seems quite similar.

Anyone have any thoughts on Hell? I read the word cyberpunk and i'm now intriqued

I'v got Hell but not really played it proper yet. It was hidden in the back of another game I got with the machine.

I'm really enjoying the 3DO so far. I always wondered what they were like (as this thread testifies), and part of me feels if they were a bit better priced when they were around, they might have done al ot better.

Tomorrow I'm going to play more Jaguar. I'v finally got a scart cable for it, as the AV output is truely dreadful. Time to revel in the cheese of Kasumi Ninja!

BTW for future reference, I'v read that Crash N Burn is region locked too.
