What do you find frustrating about it?

Where to begin? Leaving aside the side-scrolling platform-style experience (Which isn't great but I actually don't mind), the more traditional RPG elements that TAoL tries to incorporate - like levelling up and randomly running into enemies on the world map - come across as clunky and cumbersome and don't really work well enough. The enemies are hugely frustrating to deal with at times due to some questionable collision detection, and having to use the attack button to hit items to pick them up? Really? And that's before I even mention the general difficulty of the game - makes the original look like a cake-walk.

Sorry, it's easy to see why NCL abandoned this style of Zelda and went back to basics with ALttP. TAoL obviously isn't as sh1t as the CD-i Zeldas but everybody knows that they're non-canon and nothing to do with NCL. TAoL is the worst Nintendo-made Zelda game by some distance.

Got my girlfriend's nephew into the original Sonic The Hedgehog (well, Sonic Mega Collection version)... I am chuffed with that.

Managed to finish off Mega Man 1 for the first time ever a few days ago Ive been playing various versions of the game for the last 20 years but never finished it lol Played it on the Wii U and never used any save states to beat the game which Im quite pleased with. The yellow boss is a nightmare until you learn the pattern but the wily stages were a nightmare, especially the last one.

Now I have moved onto the NES version of Ghouls 'n Goblins, but Im stuck halfway through the second stage Also been playing Street Fighter II and Street Fighter II Turbo which I forgot how much I enjoyed them.

Resident Evil 3 Nemesis, an underrated gem from the classic REs. I don't understand all the hate this game gets. It's more streamlined that 2, doesn't have the out of place puzzles and the first half is based in the marvellous Raccoon City.

Its okay but gets a bit long in the tooth for me. Its like a level editor where they basically just keep using the same level throughout. A bit more variation in the locale would have been appreciated.

What I HATED about RE3 was the Nemesis appearing like clockwork every 15minutes. It just became old very quickly - enter a new area/building explore a bit then oh, oh your 15 minutes are up you need another pointless fight with the Nemesis you can't win. After thoroughly enjoying the first two games it ended by love for the series. It coloured my feelings about Code Veronica too which has different but equally tiresome annoyances and it was only when I played REMake on the GC that I rediscovered my original enjoyment of RE.

I still prefer Dino Crisis to any RE - puzzle heavy and the dinosaurs are IMHO just more fun to fight than groaning zombies and their various mutant upgrades.

I thought the Nemesis added to the atmosphere. He was an unstoppable stalker that just wouldn't give up.... I had issues with Code Veronica as well, particularly the map design, very frustrating having to go the long way round the island because you left the submarine/shotgun staircase in the wrong position. I played through CV:X for the first time when I downloaded the HD version a few months ago and I thought the extra scenes and dialog added nothing to the game. To be honest, I prefer the pacing and Wesker reveal of the DC original.

CV X is hugely overrated. A solid game but the worst in the main series.

I've been playing Recca. At first I was dying within a minute of starting, but I can now get the the second stage without losiing a life. I much prefer it to modern day shmups. It's even got bullet hell.
                      Kept you waiting, huh?

Try Code Veronica on the Dreamcast, while the differences are subtle it does change the pace and feel of the game. Best comparison I can think of is Aliens Theatrical and Extended Editions, while the Extended adds more scenes but it ruins the pace.

Completed Seiken Densetsu 3 and boy it was utterly magnificent. Took 33 hours all in with Duran, Hawk and Angela. The story was pretty good, world design was wonderful and the music sublime. Utterly cruel that this still hasn't been released in the west in any form. Really looks like a 32bit game.

Played a port of the original Outrun on my Saturn last night. Man, that game is hard as nails compared to Outrun 2.

I finished Castlevania Adventure Rebirth (Wii Ware) on easy last night. Thought it was pretty decent. Classic CV gameplay with nice graphics and music. Only thing I didn't really like was the main character sprite. Dracula was a walk in the park, but I read there is a third form missing from easy mode. Will probably go through it again on normal as it was only 6 levels.

Just going through Super Mario World on Wii U VC. Really forgot how much I love this game, its really aged well and the music is sublime, far better than the music in the New Super Mario Bros. games.
