Finished Sturmwind for the first time today, there's just so much wow factor in this game. I think it will see many play throughs from me, much more enjoyable than I'd been expecting.

Really? I've found it rather average.

I'm just weird like that mate, I think it's one of the best shmups I've played on the system, totally love it.

Spent an evening playing Chase HQ on the PCE. I know it's a pretty bad conversion, but I ended up having a surprisingly fun time with it and went from not even being close to catching the first criminal to completing three levels. I guess the best version on a console would be the one on the Jp only PS2 compilation Taito Memories II gekan?

One thing I love about these two is that the sequel was very different to the first so it didn't make the original redundant - they are different game experiences and I still love that one on one fighting and the more controlled (by comparison) nature of the first.
I thought the 1st was the better for single player but the 2nd was the better multiplayer. Both are absolute classics in my eyes.

Glad you enjoyed it, I found it really difficult on PCE but I know what you mean it does have it's charms (like so many PCE games that aren't great conversions).

Not sure about best home version, I always hope to pick up another copy on the Saturn.

Been having a Saturn day today. Played some classics ending with Marvel VS Street Fighter playing with my son.

Been playing a lot of the PCE version of After Burner II recently.

Not a bad port at all - arguably better than the MD version. Forgot how tough the game is though!

Border down DC. Jesus, please tell me this game is rock hard and I'm not just crap at it! I can only seem to get to near the end of level 3.

Played some SSX 3 on gamecube, you know what this game is okay but it would be brilliant if the PAL version had a 60hz option which it doesn't because EA were too lazy to put a 60hz option in any of their PAL games. I haven;t even played the NTSC version but I can already feel the different in the PAL version, it feels slow and the aerial tricks feel slow and floaty.

Yeah the NTSC version is noticably faster. SSX Tricky is the best in the series i.m.o

God knows where to post this link so in here it goes, nice article from Eurogamer, bumped from a year ago about a bloke housing loads of arcade machines in one building and you pay a fee on the door and then you can play all day if you wish without spending another penny/dime.
