I'm playing Shenmue II for the first time. I can't walk two metres without being asked for money, spoken to, run over or mugged!

      First or second?

I've a good way through Mystical Ninja on N64 and Parasite Eve in PS. Both are still really playable.
Also finished Shadowrun last week. I was terrible at it so I didn't seek outside help!

Just finished Twilight Princess, not as good as The Wind Waker but is typical Nintendo magic. Looking forward to playing it again in a good few years time.

Missus and I started playing Super Mario World together this week. We swap goes whenever we die or finish a level. It's funny going back to the first level and getting 30-40 lives before returning to whatever world we're on to lose most of them and have to go back again

We usually play vs stuff like Dr. Mario and Puyo Puyo but it gets stressful when she kicks my arse so it's nice playing co-op for a change. Not strictly this week but a few weeks back I showed her the Simpsons arcade game. She bloody loved it and carried on playing after I quit to make dinner.

Now we've got the big telly and hi-fi hooked up I'm gonna give Streets of Rage a whirl.

Taking turns is lots of fun. A forgotten way to play games.

Burnout's crash mode is a great example of pad-passing fun!

Yep! Except when you're me and die as soon as you start or something and have to wait for your next go

What makes me laugh is that her brilliant idea for us to play co-op came about when I started getting better at the puzzle games

Been playing Super Mario Bros with my 2 year old daughter. I do the movement and she does the jumping. It's frustrating but she's getting better. We tried Super Mario World but it's not as simple. Me and the wife did play it after she went to bed though, think we got as far as the second castle. Played a bit of The Lost Levels too.

Anybody got any good suggestions for kids first games? I was thinking of trying Kirby next.

Have you got a Wii? Kirby's Epic Yarn is two-player co-op, and is pretty easy.

Frustrating? Try teaching your dad the hadoken!

                      Actual conversation:

Dad: I want to do aa-roo-ken.
Me: You're not ready for that. Learn the fireball first!

Mario Kart Wii was the ideal game to train my daughter. Gets her to understand steering and has plenty of button inputs too. Now she is skilled at many games.

Played Strikers 1945 on the PS1, great game but very short. My son and I took about 15 mins to complete the hardest setting.

just started Illusion of Gaia, played this about 15 years ago, and i remember nothing about it so its like playing it for the first time.

only had about 2 hours of play so far, hoping to get a good 2/3 hours tonight after the wee one is tucked up in bed.

after this my current retro play list is as follows.

Zelda-Link to the Past (snes version). again! started this upteen times over the years but only finished it once. so determined to complete it again, with full hearts.
                              Alien 3 - mega drive.
                              Revenge of Shinobi.
                              Soulblazer.
