new posts

I spent a couple of hours playing Knight n Grail last night for the C64. It's a new release and been featured in Retro Gamer a few times turns out it's a damn fine game too Think Metroid meets Finders Keepers with an interesting element based weapon and armour system.

Been playing Castlevania on the Disk System, can make it right up to the Grim Reaper without taking any damage but get my arse handed to me when fighting him. Must have tried beating him for 2hrs in total now

I just finished playing Metal gear Solid: Integral (updated Japan version) on the PS1. I played the original PAL version about 10 years ago but never completed it. It's been a fun game.

I've also started playing PSX Doom. That's a really good one too.

What are the differences? Anything worthwhile?

that's made me think about how much i used to enjoy playing ikari warriors. i think i've got it on the brain - it cropped up in conversation last night when i went for a drink with pentarou (the one from the forum, not the penguin ).

Mario Kart 64 Not the game I recently bought an N64 for and I'd forgotten just how great it is. Cutting a racing line through Bowser's Castle is just as much fun now as it was when I first had the game.

                It is bloody fantastic!
Is it your first time playing it?

Just been playing Castle of Illusion on the Master System. At 60Hz! Still an utterly brilliant platformer and one that I maintain is better than the MD version.

Legend, the music is ace too.

The MS version is by far the best game but the graphics and music on the MD just create something really special. Not sure what it is about that game but it nails the cartoon atmosphere perfectly.

I'm with you on that. For me the MD version has nothing on the Master System one.

I'm playing Half-Life after picking it up in the steam sale. 5 levels from finishing it.

Whenever I've replayed HL I always get as far as Xen and call it a day, it's an awful end to what is otherwise a classic game.

I just started playing D2 again on the DC. Still maintain no game has captured a Snowy wilderness as well as D2,the Sound too perfectly captures the feeling of being out in the Wildness.

Hunting 'meats' is a game in itself
