I think he means the super famicom game.

Hold on, he did say Rondo was average /feints

I just never got the fuss. The removal of the 8 way whipping was a step backwards and the overall jumping was rubbish. It just made the game infuriating to play.

Rondo is not as good as Super Castlevania.

Super Castlevania is one of the best games ever made. Some call it too easy, but I think the difficulty was just balanced better than all the other old school Castlevania games, it certainly doesn't feature weird difficulty spikes like virtually all the other games.

I enjoyed the remake a lot as I played it a few weeks ago. But I understand your gripe... Playing with Maria is much easier. Belmont is much more clunky but when you get used to the controls it's fine. Don't listen to the fanboys here though, they don't like the game for the gameplay value but because of its cult status...

Oh really? You know why we form our opinion of games more than we do? Congratulations, you just topped my stupid post of the week chart.

Well I certainly think it's nothing to do with being a fanboy. I do stand by my comments though, Rondo would be a great game if you had better control over Richter.

Forgot I'd bought Rondo on the Wii VC - the brief play I had of it was excellent, gonna have to get properly into it!

PS: MDK paps all over Shiny's other stuff, it's their only great game imho. EJHD is so damn...depressing...too darn slick with no design there, and it thinks it's all *zany*, dunnit, "please laugh, there's a cow!"? Yuck.

Exactly how I feel Jazz. I remember liking MDK a lot back in the day but everything else they put out felt underwhelming. Zany indeed.

Am I right in thinking MDK was possibly the first game ever to feature a sniper rifle? If so it was quite revolutionary... as well as zany.

I played through Super Castlevania IV last night. The first half is still fantastic but I found the back end of it a bit of a slog. I certainly wouldn't have had the patience to beat the last few bosses without cheating. Graphics are great considering its age. In 20 years I've never noticed the vines growing on the opening stage! The best thing about the game though is the soundtrack. Absolutely amazing music throughout. I really missed the fanfare at the end of each level when playing Dracula X.

Er, yeah, might have to take back what I said earlier about MGS Portable Ops being alright, as the wheels are starting to fall off a bit.

Why do you need to drag new recruits all the way across the map and back to the van?

Why am I wondering around in a truck with a guy named Jonathan?

How come I now need to press triangle to hug the walls? - didn't you just have to press 'up' in the older ones?

What's with returning to the same missions over and over? I'm only at the start and I've been back and forth to the same places loads.

Don't get me wrong, I really like the music and what the game is trying to achieve (you as Big Boss as he builds his secret army) but the tech just isn't there to get it right.

However, this on PS4 with you invading bases with your newly recruited team members, Big Boss leading the way, now that would be quite something.
