    Expensive Pal Dreamcast Games

A list like the saturn one really.
I'm guessing Rez, Skies of Arcadia and the Shenmues (which I have) are tougher.

Would love to hear more though as I'm going for both these sega systems and feel the DC may be easier due to it being newer...

Rez and the first Shenmue are not too expensive. Both can be had for around the £20 or less mark nowadys.

I would guess your street fighter III games are about the same and possibily Marvel Vs Capcom 2.

Space Channel 5 2 is expensive from memory, and I never see it crop up.

*Edit* in fact was sc5II ever released in pal land? I think it was...

I don't think Space Channel 5 II did come out on the DC in PAL. I had to get the Australian PAL PS2 version for the missus which had actual ELSPA ratings printed on the cover but Aussie stickers put over them on the box.

Looks like it was going to be released here but then SEGA changed their mind!

Isn't Grandia 2 supposed to be worth a bit?

        What about

        Cannon Spike
        Bangai-O
Samba De Amigo (Boxed Set) Though I don't think it is as expensive as it was
        Power Stone 2 ?

I don't think there are any really expensive PAL DC games tbh. Even the costlier ones will only set you back around £20-30.

Evolution 2 is the most expensive/rare one I can think of off the top of my head. Other games which demand moolah are (and haven't been mentioned):
All the Street Fighter/Marvel fighters/Rival Schools
            Taxi 2 Le Jeu

Here's an eBay search I use which has some of them showing the completed ones, highest first. Saves me running through them and writing out prices for you :P

P.S. Not everything mentioned is in this search but you get the idea

I got Rez for £5 new in Game. For real.

Yes, I've said this before 4 times. But it's a good story.

One of the brilliant Dreamcast games that rarely get’s mentioned, and is one of the most under-appreciated racing games made, is Daytona USA 2001.

Not only is it a great arcade racing game but the prices for this seem to be far higher than the usual fair.

The PS2 version of Space Channel Part 2 was due for PAL release in 2003 but the controversy surrounding the Martin Bashir interview with Michael Jackson is rumoured to have led to Sega deciding to pull the UK release. It still got released in other PAL territories across Europe and in Australia.

I originally owned an Australian copy (although this was different to yours as it it had the autralian ratings printed on the sleeve), however a few months later UK copies started appearing on eBay so I replaced it one of those (I presume they had been sat in a warehouse somewhere).

And in a desperate attempt to get this back on topic, the DC version was never released in PAL lands (and was never planned to be). JPN only.

Was part 2 the one with that Tentacle monster boss who did the Waltz?

Can I suggest that when you open these games, you take the disc and manual out and store it separately? That way you won't break the flimsy PAL cases.

That's exactly what I do with the games I already have. I keep all my shooters and the few pal games I have in a cd wallet.

Incidentally does anyone know where I can find a list showing what pal games work via vga?

I HATE keeping discs in cd wallets for the simple reason that some leave minor surface scratches on your games depending on the material they are made from.

If you keep the boxes on a shelf and they should come to no harm.

I buy a new machine for each game so that I can just leave them in there. That way the discs never get scratched and the boxes never get broken.

But back to reality and for Gareth: I really did buy Rez for £5 in Game. It was sitting there on the shelf very innocently. It was brand new and no one had peed on it or anything. I picked it up, expecting it to burst into flames or be an empty case for sale. Amazingly, I got charged £5 and left the shop trembling. I then fell over and smashed it on the floor (that last bit was just a daft joke btw).

This is a really hard thread. I can't think of any.
