I've bookmarked that thread as it's a great read. Interestingly, I've been playing Dynamite Cop and it I read somewhere that it doesn't work in VGA. Mine does though.

Sony pulled it, not Sega - Sony published the initial batch of Sega developed PS2 ports in Europe, including Space Channel 5 Part 1, Rez, and F355. Sc5p2 was part of this deal.

The 3rd party ports were developed and published by Acclaim, as well as a couple of later Sega developed titles (Virtua Cop is one).

Then once Sega Europe had revamped themselves as games publisher rather than hardware platform vendor, they took over future PS2 publishing, including re-printing a couple of the previous games (Virtua Cop again).

Space Channel 5 Part 2 appeared on indicative DC release schedules 9 months prior, but had disappeared from the schedules long before the game was actually released on only the PS2.

I take it you mean only released in English on the PS2. As Space Channel 5 Part 2 was only released in Japan on Dreamcast.
