Yes, dammit! Superb game, full of unique Nintendo magic and plenty of self-aware humour. It's also arguably the best Mario RPG game.

I wouldn't say it's essential at all. It's a glorified tech-demo with nerd appeal due to the Star Wars branding. Extremely mediocre as an actual game these days, and dated graphically. Don't be dazzled by the license, it's not worth going back to.

HEY I actually enjoyed Geist for trying something different with an FPS.
Also I was trying to pick 10 games that didn't have Wii/PS2 conversions, so I left a lotta the good stuff out.

Hmmm... haven't posted in this thread yet. Given my somewhat rabid dedication to the Cube, then I've got a lot to base my thoughts upon. And I figured, partly because on the time I dedicated to them, you can't go wrong with these:

            F-Zero GX
            Paper Mario
            Zelda: Four Swords
            Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance
            Chibi Robo
            Baten Kaitos
            Beyond Good and Evil
            Burnout
            Metal Gear Solid
            Metroid Prime
            Pikmin 2
            Rogue Squadron 2
            Skies of Arcadia Legends
            Viewtiful Joe
            Lost Kingdom
Lie with passion and be forever damned...

Chibi-Robo will cry if you don't play with him.

No love for Gotcha Force then?

                  Re: Grapple Convoy ^^^^^^

SW: RSII was on my initial essential to buy list due to various recommendations about it being a good space flight sim and one of the most authentic Star Wars licence games.

I agree with what much of what you say, I also disliked the sensitivity and the control system in general. But it is competently made and does have a genuine Star Wars/Empire Strikes Back look and feel to it. Fighting those walkers on the ice planet is as good a conversion of an action scene from a film into gameplay as I've come across.

If you're a Star Wars fan (I'm not BTW) or not I still think it's good enough to consider including. There's certainly nothing else like it on the GC except the sequel SW: RSIII and nothing similar of comparable quality on other last gen consoles that I have come across.

If you have a GC and have not played this you need to look into it.
I think it's one that people have never heard of, or bought on a whim and love to death. I'm the latter. Now I have 3 versions of it! THE best 'Cube game. It was RElay a few months back as well, but very few bothered it seemed

Donkey Kong Jungle Beat has to be top of my list - it's just so different to a "standard" platform and really great fun to play - until your hands get too sore from all the clapping that is.

Other than that, I thought Luigi's Mansion was fantastic, along with Mario Kart DD and Resi 4. I also enjoyed Mario Tennis for multiplayer.

I tried Gotcha Force for the Replay. It's pretty cool, but not essential for me - just too repetitive.

I'm sure the order of these could change, but for the mo -

                          1. Killer 7
                          2. Viewtiful Joe
                          3. PN03
                          4. Paper Mario
                          5. Zelda's Windy Wand
                          6. Super Mario Sunshine
                          7. REmake
                          8. F-Zero GX
                          9. Pikmin
                          10. Mario Kart Double Dash

I haven't included Prime or RE4 because they're both better on the Wii - discounting that, they'd certainly be in there & very near to the top (well, Prime probably would be top).
