Ebay - selling to resellers ...

This topic disturbs me.

If you're selling something, surely you're only doing it for the money? As long as you get as much as you can, who cares who you sell it to, or what they're able to do afterwards, so long as you got your asking price?

Anyone who decries a buyer for reselling at profit is just jealous they weren't able to sell it so high themselves.

What about if you sell an item on here, then the person who bought it re-lists it a few weeks later at a price hike in the same sales forum? I've had it happen, and I thought it was an absolute piss-take to be honest. I now refuse to sell these people items when they ask to buy something from me, which is my right as the seller.

Well... when it comes to collectable games it doesn't always work that way.

For example I'm selling Gaia Seed (pricey PS1 shoot-em up) here and at shmups.com. Bought it twice this year, the second time just to get it complete with the obi. Even though I got a very good deal on the first one from the shmups forum there's no way I'm selling it at the cheaper of the two prices. Otherwise I've paid a ridiculous amount just for a piece of paper, as it stands I'll be losing ?25+. Should I email the original seller first in case he sees the thread? No.

It's all down the the person I suppose, these forums are supposed to act as a community, so I don't feel right profiting from someone giving me a good deal. For example, I bought an AES game from a member here for £150, but ended up reselling it on ebay for £250. I then got in touch with the guy I bought it from and gave him half the profit i'd made on it after subtracting the fee's and shipping. But that's just me.

Big difference to me selling something on ebay and something on here. I agree about the community thing, one reason why I got narked over the recent Zuby thing where he contributes nothing but expects the benefits of the community.
