I'm quite a bit further into Mystical Ninja on the N64 Now. I've been stuck a few times, but worked it out eventually (detest faqs!) I'd sooner be stuck for hours then solve!
I really do like it, it has already had magical moments and the humour is well, I guess its hit and miss. The temple sections have been great, and this is just the early ones, well, I say early, I have no idea how large the game is, and don't want to check either.

Very early on, you have the robot fight (I forget the names now, apologies, like in Goemon 2 on the SFC) and cue a magical cut scene and singing. It just isn't a bad game, I'm enjoying it.

Its not without issues, framerate is a bit off, the combat inbetween areas don't feel that great. Only nit-picking really, I'm not a games critic!
I'd recommend this to any N64 fan, but, I'd say go in with caution, as this has far been superseded, enjoy it for what it is/was.

myself and another forum member - the trooper - had a marathon retro session on Friday night, accompanied with copious amounts of cobra and miller ;-) Still cant believe how good early ps2 NAMCO stuff is.

its a bit hazy but from what I can remember it went something like this....

      Saturn - Sega rally

      Ps1 - Raiden dx
      Raystorm
      Wipeout 3
      Bugi

      Ps2 - Ridge racer V
      Wipeout Fusion
      Tekken Tag
      Tekken 4
      Sega rally Championship

      N64 Wipeout
      F-zero x (modded climax version)

I am sure I've left some out! We ran out of time and didnt get to Raiden Fighter Aces or Sin and punishment 2...definitely next time

You can count on there being a next time; we got through some superb games!

I couldn't agree more about the Namco stuff and it's so easy to forget that being into retro means keeping a lot of the older stuff alive by just playing and enjoying a good collection.

Yeah its a really charming little game and certainly one of the better 3rd party efforts on the N64, just a shame that Konami has pretty much buried the franchise My only real problem with the game is its length, I managed to complete the whole thing and find all of the items in about 8-9 hours I think.

Ive always wanted to check out the second N64 game but that one sadly goes for stupid money usually on ebay so I've not had a chance

              Today on the Japanese Saturn:

Capcom Generation 2 : Chronicles of Arthur
              Capcom Generation 5 : Streetfighter Collection 2

Very happy indeed, got them for a fair price on ebay...unfortunately I had to pay the same as Capcom Generation 2 again in customs fees.

Big shout out to ryoplanshop on ebay, excellent service and even included some green tea from Japan

I love Chronicles of Arthur one of the best collections of games period.

Hard as freaking nails though & I still haven't completed any of them

To say I am a fan of the games on both of those collections is a massive understatement. Never finished any of the GnG games so really looking forward to putting some time in to them all. I really like SF2 Dash/Champion Edition, my favourite SF next to Zero 3.

For some stupid reason I got the idea in my head to try and collect the Famicom Mini sets recently. I haven't started yet but I keep catching myself looking at full sets on eBay! Arg!

                      (Ps nice gets )

I remember there were these boxes/albums where all the 20 (?) Famicom Minis would fit, looked pretty nice!

I have Ice Climbers, Star Soldier, and Super Mario Bros. 20th anniversary edition...and possibly another I bought off FamiDood a few years back. I think that's enough for me.

That's one of the nicest game sets - maybe ever. Gotta give it to Nintendo.
