I feel partly responsible. I should warn everyone, I love **** games, so NEVER take my advice on anything! Except Shubibinman. My fave PCE game of all time.

I keep looking at that Shubibiman, looks to me like their version of Mega Man??
Did you play any of the sequels?

Teach me for not being able to tell when people are taking the piss in a thread where you ask for good game recommendations.

Originally posted by Lebowski View Postit was a bit mean of them to recommend it as it dose look like a terrrible game, id keep it though just so you can say you own the worst game on the pce, i really enjoyed Ninja Spirit and Blazing Lazers/Gunhed when i had mine
I fancy Ninja Spirit a lot & Ninja Gaiden, but Gaiden looks a bit dear so that will have to wait.
I was trying to grab some cheapies first & my current max for a game is around ?15-?20 but I'll work on the cheaper end of the spectrum first.
Will look into Blazing Lazers now.
Originally posted by MonkeyJuggleDX View PostI did. Both are more likely Megaman than the first. Not a huge fan of the second and the third, despite looking great and having awesome music, lasts about half an hour.
Will look for the 1st one then & if I see the 2nd cheap I'll consider it but number 1 is the priority

Don't worry about it, Soundwave. You might get some fun out of it. I'm sure we've all got games that nobody has heard of or is universally panned as bad, but had hours of entertainment from it.
Give potential purchases a quick go on an emulator first and consider it as trying a demo.
Have a look at the PC Engine Bible website, which gives reviews and alternatives, in Deep Blue's case, Darius Plus,Side Arms Special,Terraforming: http://www.pcengine.co.uk/
I really didn't want to fall down the rabbit hole and start collecting PC Engine games, especially as the reason I like it is the design of the console itself and the pretty japanese artwork, so I bought La Bible PC Engine from Pix'n'Love, which has a review, screenshot and the boxart for each game: http://www.editionspixnlove.com/Tous...ypage.tpl.html

I might try the emulator idea.
I've got Darius on my to buy list along with Parodius, Twinbee & R-Type...not to mention about a million others Colin recommended when I bought the PC-E off him
That books looks lovely.
Wish it was in English though

Absolute thumbs up on Shubibinman games, particularly the 2nd one, IMO. I think MonkeyjuggleDX+ may battle me on that one but hey, they are all excellent in their own way.
Recall swapping Final Soldier for packinvideo great F1 Pilot and literally crying as a teen and asking my dad to see if they'll swap it back in the shop. Hard times.
