What I reckon I'm going to do is buy Pal units, get the MD modded for 60Hz etc and then find a cheap Japanese unit only and recase the MD.

Think there was a boxed NTSC-J MD on eBay for about ?40 the other day, might still be there. Not a PAL unit either, proper HAA-2510.

I used to have this (see photo). Super Bomberman Party Pak, the US release. Comes complete with the game, manual and the multitap together in a custom box. I bought it AT university, literally, there was occasional trade fairs in a campus hall and someone had a ton of import SNES and Mega Drive stuff for sale one time.

Well, I still do have it, sort of. The cart and a very beat up, cigarette burned multitap. My brother took this to uni to play with his mates, lost the box, destroyed the multitap, and evidently the manual went somewhere too I think. So I eventually got around to buying a CIB replacement recently that didn't cost the earth (prices asked for in the US are silly, $80 for just the outer box!) cos the seller was in the UK...

Just look at the RGB goodness. And no, it's not a CRT either. I love my Framemeister
          That looks utterly fantastic.

                  LOL

The one I was thinking of sold exactly two minutes after my post. I'll assume it was you Colin. Little more than I said but still a fair deal~

That's what I meant by hair-splitting. I'd take 1% of games having extremely minor issues if it means that the other 99% actually look better. Playing every game through some slight blurriness isn't worth it for the very few issues outlined in that thread.

That does look good mate, i'd be interested to know your XRGB settings if you don't mind.

For The Mega Drive I'm using Meister Mode set to sync level 15 otherwise the image jumps every few minutes. The scan lines are on about 70% at standard contrast. Firmware 2.0 upwards allows you to alter the density of the scan lines.

Cheers mate, any specific colour/ contrast settings?

Nope, I just leave all that as standard. I guess those settings depend upon the screen you are using. For me, all Retro consoles via RGB, Xbox One through HDMI and Wii through D-Terminal all look fine but Xbox 360 via HDMI and PS2 via D-Terminal are too dark so those need the brightness changing.

More Mega CD love today with Robo Aleste. Much better than the censored Western release too.

Picked up a 'junk' 3DO a few weeks ago, so started buying some 3DO games.
Annoyingly I haven't been able to find SSF2X, which is the only game I actually wanted for the 3DO lol.
