Finally got round to picking up an old favourite.

Alex Kidd in Miracle World. Still looks great after 28 years.

Oddly the controls seem to be reversed. Button 1 is jump and button 2 is punch. I'm sure the version built into the Master System II was the other way around. Takes a bit of getting used to.

      Truly excellent.

I've had Darius 2 on the Saturn arrive this week, and truly appalled by how bad the PAL conversion is. I think the only way they could have made it worse would have been to include a genuine flattened turd in the box.

This is sort of retro I suppose. Haven't been happy with the way the bare everdrive looks in my PC-Engine, so picked up this little cover for it, not particularly sure I like it either mind you! And definitely overpriced.

You don't even know I have an Everdrive with my Duo R.

Yeah, I did consider that a Duo flap would keep it hidden, but if I bought a CD system it comes with one problem................I'd be tempted to buy CD based games! And yes Beecee, 3D printed.

                      Maybe a bit extreme Speedy.

So I've enjoyed using proper PCE hardware so much with the everdrive that I thought I'd extend the thinking to another system. So went hunting for a SFC (sober this time, so I wouldn't need Decider-VT to buy it from me) and managed to pick up this unit -

When I started reading up though, SFC everdrive's are a pain in the arse with compatibility issues in the cheaper ones, and the one that stood the best chance of playing nearly everything and being able to emulate all the chips was ?130 just for the bare pcb! So I did a bit of digging around and realised I could buy every game I would regularly play on the system for way less than that amount if I just bought them all cart only. My recent forays in to emulation had the wrong effect and just made me want to play the games on the real hardware, like I have been with the PCE. So anyway, picked up this lot for what I think was a very reasonable ?52.

When they arrived only six out of the thirteen worked! An hour of contact cleaning and they're all now up and running apart from Gradius III, but I'll have another go at it tomorrow. Have to go to the sorting office and collect the RGB scart lead in the morning, had a brilliant few hours playing today and the composite is reasonable on the crt, but I need that crispness!

I came to a similar conclusion Colin with the Nintendo 64. The cost of all the games I wanted came to less than that of an Everdrive.

Nice stuff mate, which RGB cable did you get? Did they even make an official SNES RGB or is it a GC/Retro Game Cables one??

You own an official SNES RGB cable. Or at least, you did.

Also Colin bought a Super Famicom, which has different values. So he'd ideally want an official GameCube cable.

                              Colin is awesome.

Lol I did!? time to dig through that cable box again!

I remember yonks ago mucking about with a bunch of RGB cables, but only the one from Retro Game Cables worked on the BVM, and weirdly the PAL SNES didn't work at all.

I currently use a Super Famicom in a SNES case (cos it's already slot widened etc) and thats working for now... But I want that SNES Mini as apparently it looks better with the RGB amp or something...
