    Ok six, close enough

      pete,

regarding jack's "state of mind" in this flash-forward section, i thinks it's implied that it takes place before the bits in the season 3 finale .... there's a bit in this episode where jacks says to hurley that he's thinking of growing a beard.

        Yeah that was my point

that obviously something happens soon to flip him

i just realised, something i didn't like about this episode...
it didn't start with somebody listening to a record.

after the start to season 2 and 3 i was really expecting a similar thing again.

Not that keen on the opening episode really...a bit flat for my liking! After so long away I expected more, most certainly not an implication that if you watch NEXT weeks then something might happen.

But that's Lost I guess! I think I just forgot.

Really enjoyed that as an opener.

I've got a feeling that there's a lot more than just the Oceanic 6.

It wouldn't surprise me if the secret that Jack and Hurley (and the other four) are hiding is where the other people who got off the island have gone. That might tie in with the coffin at the end of the last series and nobody really having a clue who it is - it's probably is someone we know but they've changed their identity to stay hidden.

That doesn't explain why going back is so important though. Unless there were other people left on the island?

              God know

All I know is I've got a headache from watching TV for the last hour, so Lost is back

I got the feeling from it, that with Hurley seeing

Charlie. That Jack, in the flash-forwards, will soon be seeing his Dad, Christian

. Which in turn will make him

grow that beard, take those tablets, mention his Father (S3E23) and generally act nuts and want to get

                back to the Island...

The only bit in the opener that i didn't get to see

, maybe next episode. Is Locke thanking Ben, for leaving him for dead in that pit. I guess Ben will, say "I knew you could do it, your special John". What Locke

                loves to hear....

Anyone else find it strange that the

new freighter people, helicopter, then parachute in and not just bring a smaller boat to the shore ? A bit timid, very military

if you ask me for search & rescue....

                  They were using the

phone as a tracking device to find people on an island - flying over it in a helicopter being quicker than taking a boat to the shore than searching on foot

                  ?

I liked the first episode a lot. No answers but that's Lost! Let the prick teasing continue...

Let's hope the WGA sort out a deal soon or another 7 episodes is all we're going to get for a while.

                    And that makes me sad

But even if it's solved TODAY that leaves them with 7 weeks to write AND film the show, which just isn't going to happen.

It's a real pisses that they finally decide to show the entire season start to finish and then this happens.

Its the Dhama Institute trying to stop this true story from being told...

In all likelihood the bulk of it is probably done and filmed. I'd imagine the delay from the writers strike will be for little plot tweeks and dialogue bits that need to be re-written and filmed on the fly.

The delay will probably be just a wee bit longer than the usual split in the series.

At least, I hope it is.

As far as I know (reading blogs and the like - not the final word, I know) the remaining 8 episodes aren't even written and there's certainly been no more filming done (as has been the case for all other US drama series).

Even if the strike were ended tomorrow I can't see us getting the second half of the series before the summer

Just noticed Lost Season 4 is being added to Itunes almost the exact time its shown on Sky, a good option, though a bit pricey.
