Well that's that then, overall I would still say its my favourite series but definetely it was at its best in Seasons 1 and 2, the whole Dharma mystery and the others were awsome, the show really did change so much from those first two seasons though and I don't know but I guess I was expecting something better for the ending, not that it was bad but it just didn't feel satisfying to me.

A good ending as far as I was concerned. Wrapped it up while still leaving much to ponder. And yes, I did 'well up' a few times. I've had moments when I thought I was going off of it but overall Lost is probably my favourite TV series ever. It's certainly the only series since I was a kid where I was always looking forward to seeing what happened next.

I know they said that the last episode wouldn't answer everything, but I just don't really feel it answered anything really and expected at least some more than what we got. More was answered in previous episodes in the series
Like where richard came from/ how he doesn't age, who adam and eve were, how the smoke monster came to be etc.
So, if
MiB died and was put to rest with his mother, doesn't that technically mean the smoke monster could have just taken his body on?
I would have liked more info about the numbers, that statue you see occasionally and what the smoke monster actually is. (didn't really expect an answer to that last one though).

Well about Richard.
He had an episode that explained his origin. He was sold to the captain of the The Black Rock that crashed into the island. There he met and spoke to MiB who said he could get his wife back if he killed Jacob the devil, off he goes to kill Jacob they talk where he tells him about the MiB. He told him he would help Jacob round up people who come to the island if he brought his wife back from the dead or absolve him, Jacob said thes couldn't be done so Richard said he never wanted to die then, wish granted and Richard became Jacobs No 2. with immortality.

? Is that right? I don't watch it but I'd like to know what it was about.
No. In the actual "story", some characters die, some don't. There was an "alternative universe" plot running alongside the main story in this season, which people assumed to be an account of what WOULD have happened if Jack's plan to "undo" the plane crash had succeeded, but it transpired that it was actually an "afterlife", a sort of rendezvous point created by all the characters, so they could meet up and properly say goodbye to each other. They ARE all dead in this afterlife, but they all died at different times: some on the island during the show, some many many years later).

That's it, done and dusted it's gone forever.
People who are getting ready to watch on Sky in soon, all I will say is it's worth it.
Oh and get some tissues ready I almost went about 4-5 times and it got me a cracker eventually, the lines spoken the scenes acted
Serious finale spoilers enclosed, only read if you have seen The End to the end.
DO NOT EVEN BE TEMPTED TO HIGHLIGHT, HONESTLY!
Really loved the end scene with jacks death and his eye closing, that final shot was a seriously awesome way to end the show. Also liked when Jack touched the coffin and I was thinking oh man Jack is in the coffin in this flash sideways and everyone has turned up for his funeral, NO! bamn his dad is there and Jack says but your dead? followed by am I dead? Then when they hugged BAMN IT GOT ME! Like the fact christian said time doesnt exist here wherever we are, then saying that some died before Jack some after, different times but they were all now in the same place in death. Like the ultimate question when you die lets say that time doesn't exist in death, so maybe that means everyone you have ever known and loved will already be there waiting alongside with you. Also when Hurley said to Ben you were a great number 2 and he replies you were the best number 1, man not a dry eye in the house generally in that entire church scene. Seriously nearly every scene in this finale was fitting, fantastically acted and well written.
EPIC finale and last episode, even after all the pain you have caused I was very impressed, bravo you bastards!
Goodbye Lost.

Probably way of the mark, but this my take on things.....
Everything that happened on the Island was real. The flashbacks and flash-forwards we saw in previous seasons were real. The "alternative timeline" we saw this season was them in the afterlife, they just needed to find each other and meet one last time to move on.
Jack saved the island and died (obviously), the other Oceanic 815 people just died before or after, the latter definitely applies to the people who managed to escape on the Ajira plane.
As for the island, it is just a damn freaky and mysterious place, simple as that really. The characters themselves know just as much as we (the viewers) do about the place, which is fine by me. A little bit of mystery is a good thing sometimes, especially when it comes to the island
.
Good finale, enjoyed it. Now I need to pick up all the seasons on blu-ray!. Enjoyed the end though better than what Sopranos came up with for an endong imho. Have to say I usually get very emotional easily but this did not make me cry. Beckham doing his tendon on the other hand.

I'm such an old man now, in the end I went to sleep at 3AM and decided to watch it when I got up, I didn't wanna watch it in a zombie like state
I thought it was a fantastic ending. As other people have said, they were not in purgatory all along, I don't get how people can't see that
Christian Shepherd made it perfectly clear that there is no "time" after you die so all the people you know are there even if they died many years after you in "real life". Everything that we saw apart from the "flash sideways" in season six happened in real life.
What this does mean is they could do a spin-off showing Hurley and Ben running the island!
I was another one who had to fight back the tears at many points, but then the final scene in the church made it impossible to hold back! Seriously moving and brilliantly well done.
