I had high hopes for this after all I had read and it surparsed them so that's a good thing. The flash backs slowly revealing more of the flights, the crash, the personalities. EVen if it's a bit cliche'd in its characterisation, the radio broadcast discovery, the bits that are left - the "do you want to know a secret" - it's just awesome and not since 24 - hell not since the original x-files has a tv series had so much potential.
Top stuff!

Finally something decent to watch in the evenings to prise me away from World of Warcraft! Really enjoyed ep 1 and 2. Had me recalling Far Cry but with a cast of Dawson's Creek extras and 24 twists!
As for only one season? Never! if it's popular enough, the rescue chopper will crash, I bet you!

This looks impressive so far.
I can't make up my mind about most of the characters yet, as the majority seem a bit suspicious in one way or another.
One thing I do know is that I don't like that blond woman much because
while everyone else is working, trying to do something to help them survive, she's sunbathing on the beach.
Still, there's plenty of time left in the series, so she might change a bit as it progresses.Last edited by Vanicent; 10-08-2005, 23:11.

Originally posted by bangaiodon't be afraid, it's your own opinion - just wrong! Nah, can see why some people would not like it, it's all rather blatant but well done.
The pilot that miraculously comes to life after 16 hours, delivers exposition and then gets eaten. I expected something better of so called 'must see TV'
The dialogue is often poor and so far the series has shown nothing new or original. Its also the little things that annoy me such as:
Out of the 48 survivors only one of them was likely to have spent a year in France and lo and behold she just so happens to be one of the five that goes on the trek and gets the French message. The convenience of people having particular skills is staggering.
I will keep watching to see if it picks up but I am struggling to get the universal praise that has been heaped on the show so far.
Sorry for the mini rant.

It has to be obvious in some parts (although it wasn't particularly evident to me) to be coherent to everyone. That's how I see it anyway.
Only just got it through today (on lovely discs, heh), and watch 4 episodes in a row, very good. Very 24ey in a way, and even features Agent Baker from 24 - albeit speaking gobledeegook! I think it adds a very nice touch to it though, being almost alien to everyone, a different culture to that which everyone is used to. They really are the outsiders here.

I agree the first 2 episodes were rubbish. This is MTV drama.
The naff shaking of the trees ala Jurrasic Park. The cliched characters, The fact no-one bothers to mention
We just shot a polar bear on a tropical island, yes they agreed to stay quiet about the radio broadcast, but not the polar bear
The fact the doctor climbed into the nose section of the plane and totally ignored what could be survivors strapped into the seats. The dog whistle WE can hear.
And to cap it all there's a second series! Why cant these people give us closure, eventually the US will tire of it and that closure will either never come or will cobbled up rubbish.
Nice to see Carter from Space 1999 though.Last edited by Ian(not Ian); 11-08-2005, 07:51.
