I just purchased the second season DVD's, and now I need to watch both it and the first season before I get started on the third. I must piece together the clues...

No one seems to have noticed or commented on the fact that

Henry

is on the series 3 poster.

That would lead me to believe that

the others know perhaps little bit more about the island, but still don't know the big picture. I bet we will see flashbacks of henry and the guy with the beard etc and come to realise that they are just as much in the dark as anyone else. Remember at the end of season 1 when we thought Echo, Ana Lucia and Libby were behind it all.

I think people are reading too much into the eyes thing, I think the graphic artist has just tried to increase the saturation of their natural colour.

I think it's common knowledge that Henry is one of the lead characters in S3 hence nobody making a big deal of his presence.

For a start (assuming he didn't lie to Michael) they know how to get off the island !!!

How did you come to that conclusion? It became apparently during the tail end of season 2 that Henry and the 'others' are somehow involved with the strange happenings on the island and not just a bunch of ship/plane wrecked survivors. All signs point to them being involved in the dharma project at a core level, but then this is Lost we're taking about so I fully expect that to be debunked a few episodes in to the new series

My thinking is that if Henry becomes a main character

then his back story will soon show you where he came from etc. I can't see that they will reveal anything other than Henry gets recruited into the Dharma Initiative, probably by someone we have already seen. The others could also be part the experiement.

As for making their way off the island, they may be lying to Michael knowing he will end up back on the island. Besides from a drama point of view I can't see them leaving Michael out of Season 3

Yep, I think Henry was lying to Micheal. It's been said that Micheal does appear in S3 (as well as Walt, with an explanation for his apparent aging) so unless their aprearence is in flashback form chances are there is no known way off.
