Just watched Casablanca on Channel 4 as well, whoa. Just brilliant.
Since watching these, I've watched Dead Man's Shoes,

funny, scary, awesome twist, rubbish ending.

Then Psycho which was clearly amazing. And also had me laughing so much when

the PI fell down the stairs

. I read that Vince Vaughn plays Bates in the remake, I can't even comprehend this as a concept.

Then Young Frankenstein. Marty Feldman is just stunning in this, amazing performance, so so funny!

Then Dr Strangelove which was also hilarious.

It's been a properly awesome few days.

Haha yeah I know what u mean mate. I went with my bro to see it in the cinema. My bro was so hyped about it as he was a huge TF fan back in the 80's. I just had the figures but he had the vids n everything.
Well about half way thru I finally decided it was bad, but didnt want to spoil it for my bro so said nothing.
As we walked out of the cinema my bro turned to me & said "well that was a pile of ****e wasnt it!" I breathed a huge sigh of relief that he felt the same as me.
I remember thinking that if you wanted to save your time just watch the 1 minute trailer cos all the important & amazing stuff is in that .

Also I just dont like Shia Lebouf as an actor, but I'm sure he'll develop & mature like Damon & Dicaprio.

I have to say that I'm also sick of all these 'geeks made to look cool or the hero' films that have spouted up over the last few yrs.

Basically it's a lot like the 2nd film

Watched this, absolubtley horrible, even worse than the second film actualy and the worst of all the films in the series.

Badly made, all over the place, nonsensical and utterly laughable.

The funniest bit was when the girl asked Alice

If they could fly people to saftey in the plane one at a time after she had seen the way the plane crashed on the roof after one landing.

no human alive is that thick, it was just plain horrible writing. And dont even get me started on the weird slow motion scenes where people ran faster than bullets traveled.

Possibley the worst film of the year.

Wentworth Miller was pretty cool during his 15 minutes of screen time as Chris Redfield though.

The worst thing about Resident Evil: Afterlife is that is so poorly lit. I was having a hard time trying to make things out in 90% of the movie. Pants.

Paul Anderson seems to have a problem with decent lighting, all his films look rubbish and thats one of the main reasons they are nearly all considered crap...

Having said that the action scenes here were not worth seeing anyway, particuarly the bit with the Axe guy (yeah how exactly did the Axe guy from Resident Evil 5 end up in this film again?). It was basicaly the most dull action scene ever filmed that was designed to make people duck around as the Axe swung about in 3D.

But I would imagine a person with only slightly more intellegence than the director (which granted dosent take much) would notice that the action scene that was taking place fell as flat as can be, regardless of how 3d the effects were.

              Its a terrible film.

I must admit that i think Shia Lebouf is an excellent actor and i will watch a film if he's in it purely on the basis that i think he has a certain charisma and humour to his expression much like Will Smith. He's made otherwise mundane films watchable imo.

Started watching anti-Christ with willem dafoe and within 1 minute his Todger was out so lost all interest, flicked through it and there was some disturbing stuff including a set of scissors and something quite private, still traumatised

Also watched chloe and the insiders both were alright

As low brow as the Resi series is I'd easily, by far, without a seconds thought rate the third film as the worst of the series. I can't even begin to fathom how wrong that film is. Worst part is that the original plan was to reboot the entire franchise after this film and redo the Resi 1 mansion storyline closer to the games. Then 3D came along and they're moving forwards with a 5th film in this series based on the tech selling it... yep, that's what Avatar did.

As for the girl asking about the plane taking them, I can let that go... I know a few people that thick so it's not too unrealistic

Watched This is England, Once Upon a Time in the Midlands, and Dead Man's Shoes on Film 4 last week. All Shane Meadows films, all excellent, all screened to celebrate his new 3-part drama This is England '86 on Channel 4.

A friend convinced me to go see this. I shall make sure I am never convinced so easily again. Please save your money as I have made the mistake of contributing to the box office takings for this.

A complete mish-mash of a film. A shame that Milla Jovovich (Alice) is the main character as I thought that Chris (Wentworth Miller) and Clare (Ali Larter) were fine in it. Just concentrate on the game characters and get rid of this original 'main character' who has to be in every film and take up too much screen time as far as I'm concerned.

Let the other characters shine, get a director that doesn't want to slip into slow-mo every 4 minutes, have shoddy CG and make a good film rather than a vanity project with his wife in the main role and we're on our way.

I'm confident at some point a good Resident Evil film can be made. They have the budget but they just need to shed the above negatives first and then they'll be moving in the right direction.

Still, I'd tap that English girl Kacey Barnfield. Shame she wasn't in the film much though.

Having just got my lounge back after weeks of DIY settled down to a couple of movies on the new sofa (luxury after 6 weeks on camping chairs!).

Transformers - love it - pure popcorn movie, over the top and cheesy but that's the point huh!

Prince of Persia - cracking film, some great sequences and soundtrack is pumping. Plot is a little duff but again it's a popcorn filler and a deffo repeat viewing.

I saw Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom on Sunday night and loved watching it again, although I seemed to know a lot of the dialogue, so it's easily the most watched of the Indy films by me.

People seem to moan about it, but I love it. Maybe it's because I played the arcade game a lot and I view it favourably?

Chilled monkey brains, umnumshabai, fortune and glory, the mine carts, Pat Roach, the nightclub shootout - it's all good.

Earlier in the day I'd been to see Resident Evil: After Life 3D as I hadn't heard any reviews. In fact, I've not even seen 2 and 3! There's a feature in one of the movie mags (Total Film, maybe) that asks "Why are the Resident Evil films so popular?"

To be honest, I really enjoyed it! It was total pap, giant plot holes, zombies seemed an after thought and so on, but I had a grin on my face at the indulgent 3D slo-mo shoot outs! It's Milla with twin katana, or twin magnums, or twin shotguns or twin machine guns and she's diving into the the screeeeeen!

Silly, silly, silly film, but a lot of fun.
(I think I've gone down in a few people's estimation now!)

If a plane carrying Milla Jovovich and Ali Larter landed near me, I wouldn't be trying to escape any time soon...

It was confirmed today that this Resi has had the biggest opening out of the whole series. There goes Resi 5....

Hmmm. Is the second film is a lot worse then it must be a stinker, as this was pretty awful. I can bear the standard Michael Bay direction (including the obligatory slow motion shot of someone stepping out of a helicopter to syncopated strings) but why must every character be so unlikeable? When are Hollywood action films going to accept that being slightly cocky, clumsy twit with a good heart deep down isn't endearing any more.

All that money jizzed on the screen, yet so little of it spent on the script. Rubbish.
Don't even consider watching the 2nd one then. It's all the worst bits of the first one stringed out into what seems like 3 hours. Of nonsense.
