Watched Shutter Island last night. It was watchable, but only just.

Yeah I found Shutter Island a grind, wouldn't want to watch it again.

I watched The killer inside me last night - What a depressing film. I don't mind a bit of violence, but this was a bit too gritty for my liking. I didn't enjoy it really, and it was a mistake to make this our saturday night viewing.

They should make Shatner Island. I'd watch that.

I didn't like Shutter Island either, i don't understand the acclaim it recieved. I found it derivitive, dull predictable chore.

Yes, i would much like to see a film called Shatner Island!

Watched Let The Right One In (orig swedish version, not the hotch potch that is to be the US remake).
Great film. Very dark both in its story & picture style. Some genuinely creepy effects

when she junps from the climbing frame

            , & 1 bit was a bit freaky

where she has no downstairs bits

but it was brilliantly done from start to finish. Great ending too.

She is meant to be a castrated He. "I'm not a girl."

Actually the US version is meant to be very good. I think the original is brilliant, one of the best I've seen this year, but I'm still keen to see the US version (not a remake, it's more close to the book apparently - which I've not read).

I watched this too and I really liked it. Very good script and I liked how you had to think to work out how it all fits together. There were a few questions mainly about Ford but it was far better than most films of this ilk.

The violence wasn't as bad as I was expecting after some of the reviews I'd seen but it was pretty jarring.

Stylishly shot too, I'm a sucker for Texan based americana.

I can't remember any violence in Shutter Island...

Watched Night Of The Hunter last night, it is a film I have wanted to watch for ages. It was ace. Robert Mitchum was both scary and funny as the evil preacher. The film had a wonderful, alomost fairy tale look at times and even though I was tired I was gripped right until the end.

Now there's a film I must rewatch. I was a kid when I last saw it and all I really remember is that I loved it.

Saw Metropolis at the cinema last night. Really glad I got to see it on the big screen. It's a shame I'm unlikely to see other classics in the same environment.

Great film and Robert Mitchum is quality as you say, if you haven't seen it yet you should see the original Cape Fear his performance in that is far superior to De Niro's in the remake.
