Watched Shutter Island last night. It was watchable, but only just.

Yeah I found Shutter Island a grind, wouldn't want to watch it again.
I watched The killer inside me last night - What a depressing film. I don't mind a bit of violence, but this was a bit too gritty for my liking. I didn't enjoy it really, and it was a mistake to make this our saturday night viewing.

Watched Let The Right One In (orig swedish version, not the hotch potch that is to be the US remake).
Great film. Very dark both in its story & picture style. Some genuinely creepy effects
when she junps from the climbing frame
, & 1 bit was a bit freaky
where she has no downstairs bits
but it was brilliantly done from start to finish. Great ending too.

She is meant to be a castrated He. "I'm not a girl."
Actually the US version is meant to be very good. I think the original is brilliant, one of the best I've seen this year, but I'm still keen to see the US version (not a remake, it's more close to the book apparently - which I've not read).

The violence wasn't as bad as I was expecting after some of the reviews I'd seen but it was pretty jarring.
Stylishly shot too, I'm a sucker for Texan based americana.

Originally posted by Yoraths mullet View PostWatched Night Of The Hunter last night, it is a film I have wanted to watch for ages. It was ace. Robert Mitchum was both scary and funny as the evil preacher. The film had a wonderful, alomost fairy tale look at times and even though I was tired I was gripped right until the end.
