American Ninja. Really it was just a bit of nostalgia tripping, as I know for a fact that I used to watch these movies as a kid but I cannot remember anything from them at all (except one bit where a baby was chucked in a pond to see if it could swim). I was also inspired by that 'worst films ever' thread to watch something crap.

I don't think the first movie was one that I had seen though, as none of it rang any bells. It was also just like an episode of the A-Team or something for the first hour, and only got good at the end when people started appearing in puffs of smoke and saying things like:

"Beware of the black star ninja - he has chosen the path of darkness and turned his back on the code"

    "then... he must die"
Also.. ninjas shooting laser beams from their wrists. Which was really awesome in hindsight. I'm going to work my way through the remaining four movies to see which ones I remember.

Christ, American Ninja. Michael Dudikov if i remember. He was quite possibly the worst f*cking ninja i have ever seen in the three or four films he made. Yes i actually saw them all as it was in the 80's or early 90's. I should have learnt from the first. Was on TV recently, the one where he is with a black fella (similar to Louis Gosset) as his sidekick. Awful film.

His marshal arts were ****e. How the hell he got the chance in films with the skillset he had is beyond me. He makes Van Damme look positively oscar worthy.

Rambo - bloody hell this has got some blood n guts in it! Heads flying everywhere, chunks of human meat flying everywhere!
I enjoyed it as a Rambo film, but the bonus interview that I watched b4 seeing the film led me to believe that it'd be more about Burma's problems than Rambo running around efverywhere.

Back To The Future - classic film. Hasnt aged imo.

Day Of The Dead original - great film. Over acting everywhere, but it doesnt spoil all the gore. Nowhere as good as Living or Dawn tho.

Saw How to Train your Dragon. Enjoyed it more than Toy Story 3 (I enjoyed that, I just didn't really get wowed by the mawkishness at the end like most people did). Really nice to see that Dreamworks have some genuine talent in their CGI section. Shame it flopped.

All three films were on Sky Player on the 360 so I started watching the first one. I was horrified at how bad the acting and dialogue was!

Jackson: Have you ever heard of ninjutsu sir?
            Colonel Hickock: What's that?
Jackson: The secret art of assassination.
Colonel Hickock: Yeah of course I have!
Jackson: Well according to witnesses testimony and evidence, this massacre was the work of ninjas.

Yeah that bit made me laugh out loud! There was another scene where I think a ninja was balanced in a coconut tree or something? Almost as ridiculous as the James Bond ninjas that abseiled in through the roof en masse and got instantly machine gunned to pieces...

American Ninja 2 was still Dudikoff...I think 3 onwards was David Bradley.

If you enjoy the Dudikoff Steve James (the black guy) combo then watch [B]Avenging Force[B]

Remember it being good...keyword there is remember.....]

Seen quite a few over the last couple of weeks, but only 3 come to mind lol......... Some of my horror ones for Halloween were mentioned in the horror thread.

                  The Hole

I really enjoyed this as it was a family type horror, which was genuinely creepy! Didn't need to throw in pointless sex and gore scene, and felt very 80s in execution. 7/10

                  When In Rome

Bit meh, and if it wasn't for the gorgeous Kristin Bell, would have stopped watching halfway. Kinda long winded, but was ok for a lazy afternoon. 4/10

                  Inception

Did not know what to expect from thing, but was blown away by the SFX! clever story arc and was nice to see some familiar faces. Because the film was so bloody long I lost sleep! But was worth it to see it all in one go! I could watch it again actually! 8/10

I'm having a great horror week this week.

Started it off with The Changeling staring George C Scott. Fantastic atmospheric ghost story, if you haven't seen it its well worth checking out and owning. I think you can get it for as little as £4.

Don't Look Now Another amazing atmospheric film, that chase in the alleyways is one of the greatest pieces of film i have ever seen. You always end up catching something in your eye not expecting to see.

The rest i have lined up for the week is Below which i haven't seen but sounds really interesting and the excellent original The Haunting.

I have seen quite a bit lately. I started with REC which I thought was really good and then moved onto Drag me to Hell. I felt a bit of shame laughing at it as I thought it was meant to be a proper horror and then realised it's done by the Evil Dead lot.

I then watched Jackass 3d, which I laughed so hard at it hurt my face and then ending up with Iron Man 2 which was alright and Adventureland which I quite enjoyed!

                      Do love me some filmage.

May I suggest everyone avoid Skyline. It's crap. A really bad home movie with good visual effects is the best way to describe it. The directing is awful, the script bad. I guess you could argue it Hard Sci Fi, but I think that's being far too generous. The idea could of been decent with other filmmakers.

Nearly left the cinema after 5 minutes when

the pretty good intro ("hey look, they've started right when the invasion happens, that's a good idea, this could be good!") stopped and we got a "15 hours previously" flashback.

Should of left for it didn't get any better

I thought the trailer looked like a straight to video jobbie. Good to see that i'm right.

Was planning on seeing Skyline, but most reviews are saying the effects are impressive, but 90% of the film is set in an apartment with the jobless tv-actors checking the blinds every few minutes. Thanks for the heads-up, Matt!

Will see Jackass 3D or RED instead and wait for Monsters and Battle: Los Angeles.
