Off topic but does anyone watch Soccer AM??

They do an awesome take off of Danny called Franky Fryer who visits Football ground on "Away Days" & it's freaking hillarious & totally awesome.

They actually had Franky & Danny on the show together at Upton Park on the Christmas special & it was just about the best bit of Chrimbo telly this year.

Danny is ok in my books too.
Football Factory & Severance are classics in my books
I haven't kept up to date with his films lately though so I might have to have a splurge & pick some up.

Goon - really, really enjoyed it! Ice hockey is not my thing, only went to see it because I'd seen pretty much everything else they were showing. Surprising amount of violence and blood. Will get universally ignored but deserves to be watched.

On the topic of violence, i watched Knuckle last week:

Despite the fairly average rating i found it absolutely fascinating. Its filmed over the course of ten years and covers a host of ongoing gypsy disputes which result in bare knuckle fights. With one guy in particular proving to be really rather good.

The fights are shown in pretty much all their glory too, which i found surprising.

^Just watched that, you're right, it makes for very interesting viewing. Not sure about the sincerity of the main bloke, though, all that 'I want out' talk yet he seemed OK with his clan mixing it up, thus perpetuating future brawlage. Just can't get my head around the logic of it all, it's a little bit scary to find reasons to feud, especially when they're all related, innit?

Loved Big Joe Joyce and his dual, 4-stone weights seemingly cast of primitive metals, could deffo see him in a beat 'em up, probably in Metro City somewhere.

The Town - I'm a big Affleck fan so was looking forward to this. Was pleased it lived up to its reputation. Thumbs up from me.

Tekken - probably as bad as you would expect. Good to see the guy playing Heihachi was the same actor he played Shang Tsung in Mortal Kombat. I fully expected Luke Goss to do more fighting than he did after seeing his work in Blade 2 and Hellboy 2...but he did bugger all!

Watched Real Steel this week. I was more or less forced to watch it and had no inclination to see it but I was very pleasantly surprised. In fact I liked it so much its probably made it into my top 10 of the past 12 months. The relationship between Hugh Jackman and his son is what really makes it work. The fx and robot fights are the most exciting sports moments I have seen since Rocky 4 back in the day. Yeah its a corny hollywood film but its done so well it makes you wonder why so many hollywood films cant get this kind of entertaining formula right.

I also watched Abduction with the Twilight werewolf bloke in it. Again, not one I had near the top of my must see list but it was entertaining enough in a bad film kind of way. Its like a Bourne for teenagers kind of thing. Good supporting cast of Jason Isaacs, Sigorney Weaver and Alfred Molina gave it more class than it deserved but they also made it tick along quite well.

Today seeing as its Friday the 13th I have put all five Final Destinations on back to back. I love the way the deaths get gradually more nasty and flamboyant in each film. The sunbed burnout in number 3 makes me laugh every single time

Cheers. I've been wanting to see Real Steel(loved the look of the robot fighting, very weighty) so will check it out.

I loved in one of sequels how they explained how the main guy from the first film (who looks like me btw) got killed off.
                        Brick fell on his head.

:-) yeah I spotted that in the news clippings in number 2. The black humour running through it gets increasingly more apparent as they go on. Number 4 just started and I remember seeing it in the cinema. Some lads behind me were horrified by the blond guys swimming pool extractor demise. Very loudly "Holy **** it sucked his guts out!". One of the few times someone shouting in the cinema made me laugh

Predators - Starting to come round to the idea that this is a decent flick. Brody in particular does a cracking job of playing a military tough guy.

                            Fast & Furious
                            - Not really my type of film but as an action flicks go I thought it was pretty good. Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson worked really well opposite Vin Diesel.

Also watched *takes deep breath* The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford. Surprisingly good film. The actor they had playing Robert Ford did a cracking job of conveying the creepiness and admiration of Jesse James.

Just watched X-Men Origins: Wolverine. Total stinker. A real mess of a movie which took a whole bunch of potentially interesting elements and then threw them together fairly randomly. First movie in years I spent time thinking, why didn't he just...? Why did he do that? Why?

At least it had some comedy value when the CG wasn't finished!

Loving Netflix right now, watched Robocop 1 and 2. Good stuff, 1st one was by far the best.
