Well that's the thing. The term 'zombie' has really lost all meaning these days. It was always an evolving term but now it's just chucked around. It can mean the old fashioned Haiti zombies, Romero shambling living dead, running infected sick people and, with Rec, seemingly

too. For example, The Crazies was not a zombie film and yet people referred to the remake as one. Bava's Demons is not a zombie film but I'd say you release a film just like it today and people will call it one. The term has lost all meaning.

And the blame lies with the Dawn of the Dead remake, who took the infected from 28 Days Later and turned them into zombies.

Agree with these theories, IMO the body has to have been certified as dead and then reanimated to be classed as a zombie.

Where as a demon is a state of possession or transformation into a new being.

Got Demons 2 to tuck into which isnt looking promising, hoping for good things from Creepers/Phenomena.

This stuff about Payback sounds interesting.

We originally watched Ransom, another Mel Gibson film, on TV last year and enjoyed it greatly. After talking about it with my step dad a few months later he recommended Payback as Mel Gibson plays a similar (well, ish) character and I thought it was a great film.

Might have to get the blu ray of Payback as it seems it includes the "directors cut".

Alright for a one-time watch. Slightly ruined after thinking of The Other Guys everytime I saw Marky Mark Wahlberg.

Edit: May as well post this here - I was thinking of a film this morning and I cannot remember the title to save my life. It's about electronic devices becoming self aware and going crazy (not Runaway) and I think it started with a drawbridge deciding to raise itself with people on it. Later on there was a convoy of trucks/lorries hunting people down...does that sound familiar to anyone?

Another Korean revenge movie. Good gory stuff and a the ending was pretty good although it may have failed to tie something up, I need to check. Anyway, a solid 8 from me.

Yes, that's the one! Had a look on Youtube and it stirred up the memories Will be giving that a proper watch later on as from the looks of it there is loads that I couldn't remember but I'm thinking as it was a horror movie maybe my Dad skipped past some of the scarier moments for me lol.

Watched Underworld: Awakening. The series continues to feel a lot like the Resi series of films, the newest entries storyline even closer to Resi's than previously. There's more action in this than in the previous films which is decent enough though suggests Die Hard 4's was a fluke from Wiseman. See what they do with the no doubt inevitable Underworld 5.
