Well that's the thing. The term 'zombie' has really lost all meaning these days. It was always an evolving term but now it's just chucked around. It can mean the old fashioned Haiti zombies, Romero shambling living dead, running infected sick people and, with Rec, seemingly
too. For example, The Crazies was not a zombie film and yet people referred to the remake as one. Bava's Demons is not a zombie film but I'd say you release a film just like it today and people will call it one. The term has lost all meaning.
