      watched today

fantastic 4 rise of the silver surfer : Thought it was ok felt more could have been made of the silver surfer and especially galactus some of the army characters just really annoyed me
Bicentennial man:Always loved this film thought it was really really underated ending still brings a tear to the eye
The simpsons move: Was far far better then i was expecting to be but i still think if the film was done years earlier before the series started to become stale would have been far better

        Shrek
A stark reminder of how Dreamworks approached the sequels in completely the wrong way. Brilliant film.

        Resident Evil Extinction
The missus education in the series ahead of the upcoming new film continued with the third entry. She gave it a mixed review liking the second halfs action but being bored to tears by the first halfs desert wandering. Currently for her the series runs at RE2>RE3>RE1

High Road - I read 'totally improvised script' and decided to check it out. Only 4.8 on IMDd but I really liked it. It's dumb comedy but has some wicked lines in it.

My Week with Marilyn - Michelle Williams was tops, so was Kenneth Branagh.

The Catechism Cataclysm - This was a weird one. It's a comedy about a priest who needs to find himself so goes on a boat-trip with an old mate. Had some lol moments but it was quite pedestrian. Maybe I was tired but it's... weird. The ending was nuts.

50/50 - A mate said it was awful but I decided to check it out and loved it. Keeps sentimentality to a minimum and treats a serious issue with just enough humour to make it accessible without going overboard. Also, Angelica Huston

Green Hornet - Was challenged to watch this by a mate after I saw Eternal Sunshine and referred to Michel Gondry's creativity as infinite. Was ok, not as bad as I was expecting. Cristoph Waltz was hilarious and if you can tolerate Seth Rogen then you should be fine. Jay Chou was cool as a cucumber.

Ace Ventura 1&2 - Was in a Carrey mood after Man on the Moon. AV2 is pretty awful and is almost a 1:1 copy of the first one but in a village - even the lines are similar. The first is still brilliant, though.

            The Descendants

Well i hadnt heard anything about this beforehand, but i do know it was nominated around the award shows recently, and with good reason.

A delicate family drama taking place in hawaii, i wont go into the story but the movie was moving, funny, uplifting, and with the right amount of humour.

            9/10.

By far clooneys best performance since solaris.

I have a fondness for The Rock, not sure what his real name is, so I saw Walking Tall when drunk a few nights ago. It was ace.

His real name is Reginald Ock, but he shortened it.

I actually started reading that thinking I would learn his name.

I think it's Dwayne Johnson. No wonder he prefers The Rock.
He was great in the Other Guys movie (well, for as long as he was in it) and I always have enjoyed Welcome to the Jungle. Hate wrestling though.

Now Fader's told you the truth, surely you prefer my suggestion?!

                          Indeed I do.

Just got round to seeing Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy. Gripped me from start to finish and think I would happily watch it all again tomorrow night.

The Wild & Wonderful Whites of West Virginia

Documentary film based on a year spent with members of the White family ...

It's kind of funny in places, as you'd expect, but it's also tragic and shocking too.

These guys aren't giving up their mountain ways for anyone.

I saw Four Lions last night.

I love Chris Morris' work, but I prefer The Day Today to Brass Eye, because it's a little bit sillier.

Four Lions felt strange to watch because it felt like I shouldn't be laughing at the subject matter, but it was very well written and really picked out the humour from the situation.

I was chuckling throughout and especially enjoyed Kevin Eldon's SWAT sniper discussing whether or not a Wookie is a bear.
