I watched Lethal Weapon 1 a couple of weeks ago too. Absolute classic. Then I watched Lethal Weapon 2 for pretty much the first time ever. What a let down. Not a patch on the original.

Harry Potter and The Woman in Black
Fans of the previous movies are in for a disappointment. After vanquishing voldemort in the last movie Harry seems to have tried to settle into a more simple life. The supernatural setting doesn't really gel with the sorcery of the previous movies. Overall I quite enjoyed it though. I'm assuming this movie isn't canon. A nice insight into the non magical world that Harry often finds himself in.

Tinker Tailoron Blu last night, very very good. I do like these minimalistic dialogue espionage movies. Obviously it had to be kept in the 70's as well but that makes it all the more interesting to look at. The Studio canal influence was strong too, at some points I felt I was watching an English version of Mesrine except far FAR better/engaging. And its got literally every decent British actor in it apart from Bale, Roth, Fassbender, Hoskins, Winston and Caine. Actually thats quite a lot but its got Kathy Burke in it too FTW.
If you liked it as much as I did maybe check out Munich, Syriana, The Constant Garderner and The Good Shepard too.

Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance
You can really tell its by the same guys as Crank some of the time. It's got that odd camcorder look to it a lot of the time. Story wise its loosely like a detached sequel, covering enough that seeing the first isn't a requirement. Despite the style change etc it's more of the same making the old mistake again of trying to focus on what a badass GR/Cage is supposed to be rather than letting you properly empathise with his characters curse so you care what happens. There's some decent sequences like when GR takes over a quarry digger but a quick ending and much lower budget hurt it. The missus loves the first, hated this one.

Watched The Woman in Black.
Fitting title for the film as basically all you see while watching it is a woman in blak jumping about behind Harry Potter.
Its pretty well made and the acting from Daniel Radclife is good but it has pretty much no story and an ending that tries to be shocking, scary, and happy in the space of about 3 seconds. It ultimatley doesnt really work that well but I suppose Ive wasted time in more unpleasent ways before.

After 2 seasons of watching Dexter I finally realised where I had seen Deb before so I decided to check out The Exorcism of Emily Rose. It was OK for that sort of thing and I generally get uncomfortable watching possession scenes but this didn't get to me so bad as when I first watched The Exorcist.
I searched through one of those Top 50 Horror lists and randomly picked out The Mothman Prophecies to watch next, and realised bizarrely the female lead was also in that last exorcism film I watched. Didn't know anything about the Mothman stories so it was interesting enough to see what apparently went on in that little town (I later Googled for the real accounts and they missed and added bits but generally the whole weirdness of it is portrayed alright). Obviously there was no real closure to the film which is always disappointing but it leaves you to wonder with your own ideas.

I had high hopes for Sand Sharks.
Brought my girls to The Muppets today. Overall, it was a really lovely tribute to the Muppets. Full of heart and respect to the original show. Some of the voices were shocking - why they didn't replace Fozzie's voice actor is a mystery. Real shame they couldn't or didn't get Frank Oz. That and the odd reluctance to acknowledge that the Muppets existed quite successfully well past the '80s were about my only negatives.
Everything else was fantastic. Great songs (and I'm not one for musicals), some really funny moments and, yeah, the big thing was that it was clearly a loving tribute to the Muppets. It felt made not by the Muppets but by a fan and that actually worked really well.
