lol. I have watched them all far too often so I can nod off, and have done. But it must of been 5 years, more or less, since I last done this, so I'm still awake. Just about to start the third film but needed a quick break

4 and a half odd hours left....

Found Fellowship was dark in places, with crushed blacks (I won't comment on the "it's teal" issue people scream, yes it is but it's not too offputting, your eyes adjust). Still, looks amazing on the projector and big screen is definitely the way to watch these. I noticed things I'd previously missed

Has anybody seen Chronicle on here? It's No. 5 in the chart and has people with superpowers doing some superpowered stuff. Thought it'd be right up people's street on here and wondered if it was any good.
Funnily enough I went to see this after Drive when the mrs. finished work. I thought it was ok, like. Props for it going a little bit like the Akira manga at the end.

      5/10 dDs

I thought the dad was correct in a way, instead of pissing around flying places and acting like dicks at a talent contest, how about focusing the power on healing and perhaps removing the cancer from his mum?

        A couple tonite:

The Ebola Syndrome. Not as good as Bunman, quite crazy in parts but not enough truly crazy parts to it. Did proper LOL at the end, when he becomes a

human fireball and hurtles down the street screaming "Eborai!", plus the 'pork' bit was amusing, as was the 'unwell native woman' segment

(should've had more crazy, outr? bits like that.)

Also watched 101, that famous 80s Depeche Mode concert documentary. I've been a big Depeche fan for well over 20 years but somehow never got around to seeing this. Being almost 24 years old, it has understandably dated (a LOT, in fact), and - bar the music - I found it pretty unenjoyable, I frankly found the small gaggle of 'superfans' they filmed who were picked to tour with the band truly a nauseating set of vapid f*ckwads, especially the twunt who continually bleaches his hair. They were major detractors...and Dave Gahan's 'moves' are quite ghastly...but the end really hammers home how godlike they were, with that panoramic shot of the Pasadena Rose Bowl, a quite SCARY amount of people there, wow!

I liked Ebola a lot more than Bunman, the latter was a lot darker. Literally as in the lighting and sets and also in the tone of the film. Taxi Hunter is by the same crew and then there's Dr. Lamb starring Simon Yam, you may want to check out... I haven't seen them, though. Nothing like those but just a great film is Seventh Curse.

^I think I found Bunman maybe a bit more consistent as a movie, Ebola Syndrome is more a film of two halves - first half 'nutty wrongcock psycho guy on the prowl' (but A. Wong's performance isn't quite as nuts as in Bunman), second half is a 'chase-the-epidemic' kinda thing, I think I preferred how 'snug' Bunman felt in comparison to this. But, yeah, I'll be checking those others out, once again thanks for the heads-up, any more suggestions will be truly welcomed!

Still got Red To Kill to watch, and I know it's not an HK film but I've also sourced a Deadbeat At Dawn (been after seeing this film for about twenty years!)

Watched Conan 3D last night. It was pants, avoid.

Watched Pineapple Express the other night. Really funny stuff. The guy who plays Red (Danny Mcbride) was hilarious.

                "Thug Life"

Watched Machete as well. Fun flick. Thought Steven Seagal was excellent as the big bad.

Team America: Still love it though I'm afraid it didn't pass the girlfriend test. I reckon over time I'll convince her though, randomyl quoting from it raises a laugh even though the film didn't.

Resident Evil: Apocalypse: Despite hating the original, missus didn't mind this one.

Stumbled across some 80's high school shlock called Three O'clock High, where the baddie from Kindergarten Cop starts a new school with a reputation for being a badass and picks a fight with dweebie guy meant to do a piece for the school paper on said badass.....ending in a 3 o'clock playground show down. Decent effort though in the land of average 80s high skool flicks, has Shermerite/piss up a flagpole babe from Ferris for bonus points and a school ranger called the Dekkertron or something crap, he looks like a squat Skinner from X-files.

and.....Ghost in the Shell, despite having watched so much anime over the years I had managed to miss one of the most obvious entries. Was decent, some good designs though the pacing of the story was a bit skewed making it rough to follow. High quality production for sure, though maybe not as amazing as I had heard for a genre defining classic?

Got round to my LOTR extended marathon. And by marathon I mean watching taking two days to watch the first film, then watching the second and third films on other days.

                            Also:

Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. Been off sick from work this week so wanted to watch something that would cheer me up a bit. This didn't really do that and I've seen it before so I should have known. Was still as beautiful as ever, though, and it sort of did cheer me up in a way, even though the premise was sad. Kate Winslet in that dress did it, I think:

Decided I needed more Jim Carrey so went with Man on the Moon which I've never seen before. Lovely film. He plays Andy Kaufman down to a T. I didn't know who he was before I saw it so jumped on Youtube straight afterwards and... Kaufman was a genius(assuming he actually died and it wasn't a stunt)

Such a great, moving film. Carey is epic in the role.....in fact i thought everyone in it was utterly superb.

The bit with the Native indian witch doctor and the dancing old lady, literally had me coughing up my food in fits of laughter!!!

Yeah was ok, but the ending was laughable to be fair.

You should read Andy Kaufman revealed! by Bob Zmuda, the film was based on it, but the book is a hundred times better! The film barely skims the full story, though Jim Carrey was excellent in it.
