I saw hausu (house), a low budget late 70's Japanese comedy horror.

It was pretty awful but there were a handful of funny moments and one pretty creepy shot involving a piano

The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift. Quite possibly the most atrocious film ever made.

Tony Takitani - Been meaning to watch this forever, finally got around to it this weekend. I'm a pretty big Murakami fan and this really captures the sparse, melancholy world most of his characters seem to exist in. The piano score is really fantastic.

The Dark Knight - Second time round, this time on Blu-Ray. Same feelings as before really. Definitley too long and the DareDevil-vision stuff towards the end is just rubbish. When it does work it is pretty amazing though and I had no problems with the voice that seems to annoy everyone.

went to the cinem and watched Body of Lies last night, utter utter ****e, garbage story with terrible tacked on romance and crap ending.

they set up an interesting premise then totally bottled it and went hollywood.

Saw wanted on the plane - was a bit poo but passable - with the exception of seeing a half nude Angelina!

Also saw The Three Kindgoms - another 3 Kindgom movie with Andy Lau and Sammo Hung - loved this - not quite as good as Red Cliff in my opinion but some of the fighting was pretty damn cool - the action coreography by Sammo was as usual superb. Maggie Q is as stunning as ever!

Indy 4 on BluRay - absolute rubbish and a travesty to the Indy cannon.

Watched Casino last night which id never seen before. Amazing film, brilliant. Tonight Coppala's Bram Stokers Dracula which is a real guilty pleasure of mine.

The Warlords - Angry Chinese people running around in the dust killing each other and then crying about it. OTT melodrama mixed with OTT violence. Takeshi Kaneshiro looks confused, Andy Lau looks angry, Jet Li has chapped lips. Rubbish.

Naked Lunch - My second favourite Cronenberg film. Threw it on because I read Junky last week, so I felt like some more Burroughs related stuff.

No Country for Old Men - Fourth time. Still amazing.

Legend - Just because it was on BBC2 as I was flicking through the channels. Weird cut of the film, had the Tangerine Dream score but it wasn't the same as the US theatrical cut (or at least, I don't think it was). Really, really beautiful looking film. Tim Curry (+makeup) is awesome.

Wall-E - Not normally fond of Pixar's stuff, I think their visual style makes their films seem hollow and soulless. This was a pleasant surprise though, I hated the way the humans were drawn, but that aside it was pretty good (but Persepolis is still my favourite animation of the year). Interesting to see Roger Deakins in the credits.

My Blueberry Nights. I liked it, not a lot really happened, but the colour kept my eyes on the screen.

I watched Southland Tales on Saturday night. It's one of those films that I seemed to dislike as I was watching it, but the more I watched the more I enjoyed it.

Really hard film to describe though, I'll have to watch it again at some point.

I gave up on Southland Tales after 20 mins when it was on sky recently, annoyed the crap out of me and couldn't be bothered to find out what it all meant.

Yeah, I Sky+'ed it a few weeks back but only got around to it on Saturday night. It gets better as it goes along as I said, but I can totally understand anyone that gives up on it, I was close on more than one occasion.

By and large it makes sense come the end, although it's still a very unusual film.

Dead Set, technically not a film but definitely film quality. Absolutely brilliant, this is miles better than most recent zombie efforts I've seen (28 days/weeks, Dawn remake, Land of the Dead etc.). Kudos to Channel 4!

If you want to see a decent zombie flick, check out Fido, if you haven't already. Saddens me how that one has slipped under the radar. Don't even think it got a theatrical release in the UK.

It's not really gory, but the script is razor sharp and funny as hell. Just try and put those annoying National Lottery adverts with Billy Connolly out of your mind. He's really quite wonderful in this.

Yeah I've seen that a few weeks ago, excellent movie . Also watched Dance of the Dead recently which was also good. Basically, zombie films need humour in them, without that they just turn into boring gorefests it seems.

I love the film. Even better after you've read the graphic novel which is the first half of the story!
