Woo! This is tomorrow! I didn't notice QC's plea for escorts until just now, and whilst I'm cool for meeting up with people I know I'm already trying to co-ordinate with a posse of about 10 people, and that it could well be a logistical nightmare. Will PM you my number though and see how we get on!

I overlooked that myself actually (didn't mean to ignore it!). I'm meeting up with a few people there, but if a couple of people here are planning some kind of get-together, there would surely be no harm in dipping out for a bit. Bit short notice to plan anything now though I suppose.
I'm supposed to be staying overnight in a hotel, but it seems the hotel has had 'booking problems'. They're promised us *somewhere* though... will be interesting to see where we end up...

Annoyingly, my brother and I haven't been feeling that well for the last few days. We're still planning on going but probably won't be there at doors open and will likely hang back rather than be in the thick it of it all. The other thing is my brother's concerned he won't be able to get in. In the picture he had a beard and short hair. Now he has a lot more hair and no beard. Still, should be a good night out assuming we get in.

It's a bit of a long, late and expensive round-trip for just me, so I'm going to have to give this a miss. It's OK though as I'll be seeing them headline at the Download Festival next week. I did try to organise a meetup with you lot, but it's not worked out. Thanks for the PM though, Fuse. Some other time maybe!

Just got home. An amazing night out. Gogol Bordello were excellent. As was Rage Against The Machine obviously. My brother and I had an amazing time and defiantly glad we went. Quite unexpectedly bumped into a few friends there as well. I have to admit it was busier than I expected. Our plan to hang back to a more calm section of the crowd. We were quite far back and didn't seem to be much calm. Great atmosphere though.
Getting back to the tube station after was a nightmare though, but luckily we were able to catch one of the last trains out of Finsbury. Anyway, need rest now.

Awesome show - so glad I went. Got there in time for Roots Manuva and Gogol Bordello, both of whom were good fun, and Rage themselves who were excellent - very tight, hugely energetic, and sporting a cracker of a set list. Opened with Testify then Bombtrack, hell yeah.
We had a bit of a hike to Caledonian Rd tube before managing to cram onto the last Picadilly train, not a pleasant journey. Had to get my gf home too, hence only just getting back at 2:30. Not looking forwards to work in the morning.

Just got back now, since we decided to spend the extra day in London (we managed to get a hotel right next to Finsbury Park). Fantastic gig, one of the best I've been to. I knew the Gallows would be good, but they really made the most of it... they were fantastic, they've certainly gained a fair few fans, I saw loads of people buying shirts. I'm glad people took to Gogol Bordello eventually too, also fantastic though it took them a while to get the crowd going.
RatM were obviously brill, a shame they didn't play Renegades of Funk or How I Could Just Kill a Man, but what they did play was stunning. It was rather unique actually, it was essentially a festival, except everyone was there for the main event (unlike a normal festival where people might be there for other bands), so it was surreal being in a crowd of 50k people all getting stuck in, even towards the back. Great stuff.Last edited by sj33; 07-06-2010, 20:47.
