Anyone got The Goonies BD yet?
I'm guessing it's a very minimal improvement over the R1 DVD i've got.

I've got it, the PQ isn't great really. Improvement from a dvd, but not by much.

The reviews have all said the PQ is good. What's the actual movie like? I've got it but I'm saving it for Xmas along with Wanted and The Dark Knight - I like to have something to look forward to!

It's not bad, certainly better than the other Hulk movie with Eric Bana. If you like your comic book based movies you should enjoy this.

I watched a few BD's over the weekend. 1st up was Speed Racer which I have to say I enjoyed a lot more than I expected. To be honest I think BluRay is the only way to watch this film, the picture quality is superb, and really highlights the live cartoon look of it.

Next up was IronMan which was just brilliant all round really. I loved the etxra detail you could pick up on the suit, and the little details in starks lab.

Finally I watched the Goonies. The PQ was a lot better than I thought it would be. You can really see the extra detail in the sweeping shots of Astoria, and the rigging and detail in Willies ship is also really good. Its a lot better than the PQ in a lot more modern stuff I have watched lately, prime example being the Perfect Storm. I think my biggest gripe with this is they didn't do more with it. the menu has been lifted directly from the DVD along with the extras. Given the current popularity of the Pirates movies I would have thought they might try and cash in.

Is the Goonies region free? And does it have any new extra's over the SE DVD. The Cindy Lauper music vid is crazy.

don't laugh but does anyone know if the UK high School Musical 1 is region free? I want to buy it for my daughter.

Watched There will be blood last night, sound was pretty average and picture looked OK - tbh was so engrossed by the film I didn't think much about these things...

Being a Warner Bros release i'm assuming it is region free, but I have no way of testing. It even has the FBi warning on the UK disk when you fire it up.

Extra's wise it is exactle the same as the DVD Music video et all. Even the front end menu is basically ripped directly from the DVD (Making it look wank).

Definitley worth the 11 quid I paid for it.

Does anyone know whether the UK releases of the remastered Bonds are region free? Looking to buy the boxset, so don't want to take a chance on it not working on my US PS3!

It says A, B & C on the case so you should be OK. The US versions were locked though.

I know, that's what's bothering me John. I need the boxset for Friday, as I'm meeting Roger Moore, so want him to sign something substantial (ideally). However, I don't want a £70 set of blus I can't play!

Last UK disc I bought was Rambo - marked as regions A, B and C, but my PS3 wouldn't play it. It's an expensive mistake if the same happens this time!

Even if they didn't work, which is unlikely, you have either a signed James Bond box set that you keep or sell for more than you paid for it.
